What is the first thing you do after checking in to your WDW resort room?

For us.....pop the TV on the "Top 7" channel and plan away!

Should be checking in @ the Contemporary by 1PM on Monday, so we'll drop our carryons and head over to the MK, grab a quick bite, and head on up Main Street for everyone's first sight of the castle. Probably do Fantasyland as this will be the kids' first trip ever, then head back to the resort for our 7PM dinner @ Chef Mickey's. Early night to bed then a leisurely start on Tuesday morning - we'll be doing the Christmas party that night so it will be a late one and I don't want any meltdowns!

If I am checking in during the day its usually off to MK since I can't get into my room. But if we check in at night we get to the room throw our stuff down maybe put on our bathing suits and hit the hot tub or head to Downtime Disney for shopping.

We always arrive around lunch so we unpack first while watching Top 7 (I just like getting that out of the way super quick), head down to lunch at Kona Cafe and then take one loop around the resort monorail to see to see what is going on or if anything is new.

Usually check in....depending of if we fly or drive, we will explore the resort or hit DTD. I love the world of Disney store and seeing all the new shirts and memorabilia they have put out. Picking where we want to eat first. Then some rest and planning our first whole day of usually MK.

Unpack, and get the room set, freshen up, step out on the balcony and take it all in...Ahhhhhhhh vacation at last :king:. This year it will be that PLUS running downstairs to Beaches N Cream for a chili dog and a root beer float for me and a "No Way Jose" for DH:slurp:.

What's a "No Way Jose"? We'll be staying at the BC so I'm wondering if this is something I can do too.

I always check under the beds for a dead body.
Mousekeeping doesn't always catch everything.

:)
Me too! Just kidding....I do look under the mattress for some money, just in case the previous occupants left me a treat....just kidding again, sorta. :lookaroun Then I grab my tickets and go to MK, the best park of the bunch!

We fly out early in the morning and by the time we get to the hotel it is almost lunch time. Our room is usually ready so we unpack, get organized and head to Epcot and then go back to the room after dinner and a little shopping, take a much needed shower and early to bed to wake up refreshed to start our next day.

After getting settled and plopping down on the bed to let it all soak in, it's off to the closest form of WDW Transportation to take a spin. It makes it all feel more official for me. :D

First thing to do is get lunch at the Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney.
A very delicious arrival at the world.

:sohappy: Horray!! :sohappy:

Then we get settled into the resort.

We usually arrive in the WORLD at our resort around 10:00, check into our resort and relax in the room for a bit to unpack and unwind. Then we head over for lunch at Afternoon Tea and back to the resort for a swim. MK is usually our first park that evening.

After a long journey we have a shower and unpack, go to buy our mugs, water etc for the room then head off to DTD.

We wander round absorbing the Disney atmosphere (probably with silly grins on our faces), call for a drink at the bar overlooking the lake then when we've worked up a bit of an appetite its time for Earl of Sandwich :D I love it!!!

For us, it's always something different.

Reporting on non-day trips only:

Last trip: arrived many hours late at 4 AM at our off-site resort with no luggage. Showered and hung up close to air out. Woke late next day shot over to DHS (in the same icky clothes ) for a great day! Our luggage arrive that evening, BTW.

Trip -1: arrived by car to find Sassagoula Floatworks had just closed. Shot over to Riverside Mill without even checking in first. Then checked in and collapsed.

Trip -2: Flew in very early. DW and kids to pool, while I went to change rental cars (the one I got at the AP was a lemon) and straighten out some ticket problems that turned out to be non existent. GS gave me four front-of-the-line passes to use during our stay for anything we wanted as recovery, even though I didn't ask for anything, and it wasn't entirely their fault (whoo hoo! WDW magic!). Then on to DHS.

Trip -3: Dip in the Motel 6 pool then bed - at MK for rope drop the next morning.

Trip -4: Arrived late at Caribe Royale, kids played in in-room Jacuzzi, early to bed, up for their fabulous buffet breakfast which is included in the room charge, and off to the MK. Not quite rope drop, but early enough.

Trip -5: Checked in and quickly ran off somewhere for a character lunch (I can't remember where) and a (shorter) day at the parks.

Trip -6: Gin and tonic on the balcony of Comtemp MK-view room - watched EWP (yes, it's been around for a very long time) - early to bed - early to MK.
