Should we form a summoning circle so an architect who worked on it posts concepts on their portfolio?
Found it!! It's going up right next to SSE!!...

Wouldn’t they want to connect this to the park?
I am sure access to the park from any resort is deliberately designed to be controlled and the fewer access points be better the control. So to build a resort right next to the park, with a close up and personal view of the park, is not a new idea then just funnel the guests to an existing access point to get in or out of the park.

A walk from the edge of that cleared space to the security checkpoints, following the same path as bus guests, is a lot shorter than the walk from the edge of the GF to MK and also shorter than the walk from the Contemporary to MK. So, that could work.

True. But if building a new hotel at a monorail endpoint I'd like a protected walk over to the trains. At BLT or CR you also have the option of getting on the resort loop to ride around to MK or get to Epcot without a long walk past the bus drop off points.

Now if they had a short skyliner route to the front security gate or back to the IG I'd be all over it. I just don't like having to walk farther than the people who drove in if I'm paying a premium to stay within walking distance. Hell, even a regular tram/shuttle from the front of the hotel would do the trick.

IMO the staging lot would be the best place for a hotel, if not for the sightlines. The spot off to the side would give decent fireworks viewing and no be as obtrusive to people watching the SSE lights at night on their way out.

Covered moving sidewalks / walkways (pedestrian movers)? many airports have them so its not like it cannot be done.

Best possible scenario would be for the hotel to actually span the monorail tracks at the station but have the building designed to allow the big view... and not too tall... very linear... and right at the entrance...

That would be very cool! The part by the monorail station could be elevated retail and dining that expands over to the actual hotel.

To have the hotel at the entrance you have to completely block off the entrance while building it. Plus it would have to be really tall for a good view which will look like garbage to anybody inside the park. It would be great for the owners and terrible for everybody else.

Then you'd be partially blocking Spaceship Earth from the arrival view and have the building sitting there behind Spaceship Earth from everywhere in the park, like the Cosmic Rewind building. I can't envision a way a hotel right at the entrance of EPCOT wouldn't be terrible.
