The Enchanted Tiki Room set to reopen later in 2011 after sustaining fire damage

The Tiki Room being restored to its proper glory without UNM is likely the only thing that would get us back there in the next 3 years or so, what with the construction of FLE, associated shut downs, and dining plan cutbacks.
For a proper Tiki Room soon, I'd bring the family down, even if for a couple of days.
As it is, it's not happening at least until FLE is finished.
Our kids know the entire original show in DL via .mp3 files, streaming theme park radio, and youtube, and really want to see it as well as the full POTC.
But a trip to CA is just a little costly from the East Coast for 4.

Go REAL Tiki Room.

Go Dole Whips moving next door.

Go letting Dole Whips in the show.

There is a lot that can cause excitement here if executed correctly.

Adding Dole Whips to the attraction would DOUBLE sales.

DL's line is always 20+ minutes long.

It's too bad it didn't burn to the ground. :hurl:

It's too bad that it took a fire to finally provide an impetus to refurbish possibly one of the most offensive and poorly-executed attractions to ever be built in a Disney theme park.

I don't think its wise to deal in absolutes quite yet.

Ah, why let this thread go to waist... I just read this whole entire thread, and was inspired by the guy who wrote the letter and hand delivered it to guest services... that i'm going to do the same for the country bear jamboree :king:

Be careful SGE might just get an accidental FLAME ON as well...

For me, the real dream would be to bring back the original show and plus it with updated animatronics and the like.

That would be INCREDIBLE, for me, at least.

Silly question... are Dole whips served at the place next to Tiki Room now? I am never there, and I don't know whats on the menu. Were they ever sold there, or always outside of Adventureland Veranda?

Sunshine Tree Terrace doesn't sell them; they only have milkshakes, floats, and slushes. Although it would be very easy to put Dole whips on the menu, and it would make the line at Aloha Isle shorter.

Coffee shop sometimes. Sushi sometimes. Sanwiches sometimes. They experiment there with the menu a lot.

They had 3 different menus during our last trip.

I think it is the only place to get the OJ slushie -- when they serve it. Many times they don't.
