The Disney Graveyard...

There are a few places around property that you can find old attraction vehicles and parts on aerial views...

Disney likes to bury junk in the northwest on-property landfill.

Most of the 20K subs are buried here. But you have zero chance of getting anywhere near this landfill, as the only access is past the fireworks storage bunkers, and that's one of the most heavily secured areas on-property. (scroll to the northeast of the landfill and you'll find the bunkers)

Going onto Bing Maps you can find closer aerial views...
Subs pre-burial:

Rotate the image to the east and you get mid-burial with only two hatches still exposed:

And Pluto Park to the east of the MK is a big junkyard:

Random boat hulls, ride vehicles (I know the old Space Mountain rockets sat here for quite a long time... The blue things just in the trees *might* be them...)

Just off the Epcot parking lot you can sometimes find the Food & Wine Festival booths, the disassembled Lights of Winter arches, and apparently the bodies of a Backlot Tour tram minus the chassis...

When they tore down the wand they stored the wreckage in this area. I remember there were some photos taken of it.

Very interesting!

During my recent trip I all of a sudden was wondering the same thing - esp with all the visable Space Mountain carnage.

I also heard there is an area in Disney where they build small test models of certain resorts. I wonder if this is true?

It's true. There's a test villa from Saratoga Springs sitting next to Port Orleans' Cast Services Building.

The subs sat out for quite a while in the boneyard at Pluto park...the Bing photos clearly show they were moved to the Western side of the park..
also the space mountain cars were in the boneyard as well...

I recall this when it came out. All the controversy.

I do see some waste in burying the items instead of scraping them... but some companies just dont want any possible chance for anyone to take advantage of their junk.

Besides, the cost to scrap them might just cancel out after your moving charges. I do love the freight cargo containers covered up. I REALLY wonder what is in those.
