Are the fireworks Bunkers the wagon wheel shaped setup East of the Landfill on Maple Road?

Yup. Each bunker is separated from the next by a pre-determined distance to minimize the damage if a fire were to occur. Each bunker is surrounded by a ton of lightning rods (and occasionally portable rods around semi-trailers.) And the closest Guest area is over 1/2 mile away.

Each day, they only deliver enough pyro to the parks to cover that day's needs.

This setup in the NW corner is relatively new. For many years their pyro storage facility was on the grounds of Orlando International Airport, in an old munitions bunker left over from the airport's McCoy Air Force base days.

Very cool Rob..yes the location makes sense as the road runs right to the launch location behind the MK. It seems anyone could just drive back there from Floridian way off of World Drive...

Yep...they cleared that area back before Epcot 25...but not before I helped myself to a chunk of wand.
I debated on grabbing a piece but I disliked the thing so much I really did not want a 50 lb chunk of it lying around to remind me about it.

Yeah...a 50lb'er would be a bit much.
I got a chunk of red mesh that fits in both hands, and a handfull of those little red sparkle things that I handed out at the 25th as kinda morbid souvineers.

*wonders about Archaeological digs thousands of years
from now*

"The discovery of a fleet of small submarines, apparently dating from the 20th century AD, has led to the greatest archaeological mystery of the millennium. Scientists are baffled as to why the submarines were buried so far inland, and why they don't appear capable of withstanding depths of more than several feet."

There are certain things in life I try to forget and block out of my memory... and that (the wand) was one of them. I wouldn't have taken any.

The subs had to be buried because they contained so much lead on the paint. I remember seeing it on the 20k website or somewhere else. They actually tried to get all the parts back that were sold on ebay but whos going to let that great stuff go.

I always wanted to back up a u-haul to pluto park and load up, there doesn't seem to be to many people around that area:lookaroun

During my recent trip I all of a sudden was wondering the same thing - esp with all the visable Space Mountain carnage.

I also heard there is an area in Disney where they build small test models of certain resorts. I wonder if this is true?

There was talk of building a mock up of the Animation Inn & Suites in the unfinished side of Pop Century. I don't know if it happened, but they did pull permits on it last fall.

There is quite the formidable fence and gate on Maple Road just off of Floridian Way. Plus, there's the new fire house at the intersection of Maple and Floridian that isn't shown on the aerials.
