This movie looks amazing. The Joker's laugh is the best Joker laugh since Mark Hammil's in the Batman animated series. I love how his make up looks all caked on and scuzzy. His hair is all greasy looks awesome. Ledger, just from this alone, looks like he is doing an amazing job with the character and I can't wait to see more!

His laugh is maniacal! I love it...

THIS is what the Joker should've looked like all along...none of this "sophisticated" crap...

EDIT: I'm afraid of clowns...and this is just one more reason why I should fear them :D

There's only been one Joker laugh since then....The Batman.

As fun as Ceaser Romero was in the 1960's Batman as the Joker, his mustache always showed through his make up and it bothered me. Still, he was a fun and safe Joker and his laugh was clown like.

Jack Nicholson had a very comic book take on the Joker and his laugh and did a good job, but he never felt like the Joker for me.

Makr Hammil's Joker laugh was great. It was over the top but fit the character for the show.

Ledger, man, what can I say, he looks and sounds psychotic. He IS the Joker to me. THAT is how the Joker should be. He really looks like he can give Batman a run for his money (and Bruce has a lot!). I think he is the best Joker yet and anyone to play him after this will have a very had time trying to top this.

Just got my first real taste today with the delicious trailer... and I want MORE!!

It looks ridiculous good. Ledger, I believe... is going to do amazing as the Joker. That maniacal laugh... brilliant... I agree... not since The Batman!
It looks so dark and gritty and I can't wait! I booked my dad for opening night as a sitter, told him to mark his calender cause I know I have plans that night! YESSS!!

I havent gone to see I Am Legend yet, was in Disney til today and couldn;t make it. This week hopefully. I got my Lego Joker and Catwoman keychains at Downtown Disney on Friday, marked down half price! 2 bucks! And some of the Batman sets were on sale too, but my little guy opted for the Star Wars set instead... I am proud either way :p NERRRRD am I!

You know, I almost wish I was afraid of clowns too, just so I could enjoy Ledger's Joker all that more.

Welcome back, Peaches!

Tough call, Batman or Star Wars, but either way it's a good outcome.

Wow, looks great! And I've changed my mind, I think Heath Ledger is great as the Joker ( although I may be in the minority about his laugh. It sounds a little forced IMHO, but it still seems like a solid performance ).

Yes, it does seemed forced...but think about it...

Crazy laughs are a bit forced. They are over the top and unbelievable. That's what makes them sound crazy ;)

I love the laugh. What about the make up? I love how it looks all dirty and caked on and gross, really adds to the character's insanity.

Yeah, like he's this crazy maniac...(Kinda like Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs)...he's home just putting on make-up all crazy-like :D

I do love the runny cracked makeup... makes him look even more deranged!

Oh and I HAAAAATE clowns, so he is sure to freak me out in a very special way... and I am actually looking forward to it... odd. :lookaroun

There is that one scene in the trailer where he is in the jail cell and he has his head sort of to the side, closes his eyes, then looks up. That is such a great scene, just that look gives me chills.

Has anyone seen the footage that was shown at Imax theatres? I saw it on aintitccoolnews.com, not sure if it is still up, but man, it was awesome.

I must say, I can't recognize Ledger AT ALL in this performance. As said before, it does seem a little forced, and at times you can tell this kind of acting is new for him. Overall, pretty good for a first time insane clown.

^ Yes, clowns do scare me. Ever since I saw IT

And thank goodness we're not getting a Pennywise redo of the Joker. That would be a disaster...:lookaroun

Really? Though it is a new role for him... I believe he is going to be genius.
His intensity shows in just the trailer... I am hyped!

I was never a fan of clowns... but when 'IT' aired back in '90...

yeah that just enhanced the fear to the point of ridiculous now.
Thanks Tim Curry, for scaring the bleep outta me for life....
gah, he is bluddy brilliant!
