The Creator Games!: An Imagineering Competition

May we change surrounding areas such as Auntie Gravity's, Merchant of Venus, and Mickey's Star Trader's to fit the theme? If so, should we simply mention the change, or should we go into detail?

Don't quote me on this, but from my understanding these places have to stay the same, aside from little things like removing stitch references and (possibly) selling new merchandise for the new attraction.

Chili's
Ok, but could it be changed to an oval (Without extending it passed the original theater)?
I suppose so :p

Though in order to do that within the confines of the original theater you'd have to push two sides of the circle inwards, which would make the total space available less than before. Is that what you were thinking?

Before I start I would just like to thank @IDInstitute @spacemt354 and @Sam4D23 for hosting and judging this competition. This week I had a lot of fun creating this attraction, and now I present to you...

Journey to the Center of the Earth

Occupying Theater 1 of the Tommorowland South building will be Journey to the Center of the Earth, based on the novel of the same name by Jules Verne. This attraction will be similar to the dark ride of the same name in TDS. I chose this theme because of the Sci-Fi feel to the story, and that it fits the original Tommorowland theme better than Disney IP based attractions. This will be a 3D show.

Queue

Entering the outdoor portion of the queue, it will be similar to how it is today. On the wall will be mural showcasing images from other Jules Verne books, such as Around the World in 80 Days, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and The Mysterious Island. After entering the building you would see a wall mural showing Mount Prometheus in the distance. The pre-show room would be removed and replaced with a library. A desk in the library will have the book on it that explains how to get to the center of the Earth. After this, a CM will direct you into the theater. There will be a cart with glasses on it on the way in.

Showroom

The wall and roof would be a dome, which would also be a giant digital screen, and the floors would be fake grass (The floor would not be there while the show is going, as it would split and go out of the way, underground). When you walk in it will show a 2D (As in, no glasses, not 2D animation) image of Mount Prometheus on the wall and seemingly endless fields. At this time it will look like SGE in terms of seating, however WDI will create new technology allowing each seat to move individually. Also, the seats would all have flashlights below them, and CM’s would come around before the show, pulling them up as needed (They would be under every seat because the show could be changed)

Show

The show itself will be practically identical to the ride in Tokyo. In the beginning, all the seats would turn to face Mount Prometheus, which would then seem to be coming at you. When you reach the base, you would start going up. At this point the grass beneath you has already disappeared. After reaching the top, you fall into the center of the Earth, and everything goes dark. A few seconds later, the first flash light goes on. At this point you see that everyone is in the center of the room, facing the walls. After the first one, a few more flashlights flicker on so everyone can see. Now, the wall looks like this.

JTTCOTE2.jpg

For a little bit, the people with the flashlights will wave them around, but then the tour of the center of the Earth will start. You will see many bioluminescent plants and animals, which could be different each time, depending on where you sit, and where the lighters point. This will go on for a short time, and then the room will go dark. While it is dark all seats will be returned to their original positions, and the flashlight fun would be over. A spotlight would then turn on, revealing that this guy

disneysea_update_008ff.jpg

came out of where Stitch is now (The hole would never be visible due to the grass in the beginning, and the darkness in between). After he “attacks”, you will feel like you are being shot out of the volcano, and the grass would come back into view gradually as you “fall” back down to the ground.

Stats

Ride Length: 8 Minutes

Load/Unload: 2 Minutes

Capacity: 240 (x2 Theaters)

Capacity/Hour: 2880

Ticket Rating: B-Ticket

FastPass +: No

Flashlights

Conceptually, the flashlights would project a picture onto the wall. However, since it is a digital screen, motion sensors in the flashlights would be connected to the screen, telling the screen where to display the image. The image on the wall would always be the same, but what you actually see depends on where the flashlight is pointed.

Since I love Lilo and Stitch and I love the Stitch's Great Escape ride, my replacement of the ride will be:

Jumba's Experiment Encounter:

In the queue of the new ride you will receive a messsage from the Grand Councilwoman who sends you on a mission to investigate Jumba's lab. Here, mysterious lights and sounds have been recorded , but no one knows what it is. Now you will get the chance to pay a visit to Jumba's lab and to find out what is going on over there.
maxresdefault.jpg

On the walls are some screens that display various mysterious codes of Jumba's experiments. Then we are asked to enter the pre-show room. In this area you will see audio animatronic characters of Pleakley and Jumba. Behind them are two pipes and one screen. Jumba will tell you that he has created a portal that could transport the experiments to places where they are needed. Doctor Hamsterviel however is back and has made some of the experiments evil. In this ride you will be able to help to redeem the experiments. Jumba will send them to the main hall where he has to scan the experiment and then redeem. The guests' job will be to distract the experiments and to check if their powers work correctly.

Then the group of guests will be divided into two groups. The two theaters will serve as Jumba's lab. The ride will have a randomized system. Every theater will have 9 audio animatronic figures( 8 randomized characters) underneath it. All these animatronics are experiments. In every ride you will encounter 3 randomized experiments and you will always meet Stitch at the end of the ride. You will still have the horsebelts on your seats, this will simulate the feeling of some of the characters walking around the theater. On the side of the theater, you can find a virtual window with Pleakley and Jumba behind it. On the sides of the central platform are experiment pod containers that show which experiment will inside the theater. I will now talk about the experiments you can encounter and what they will do.

Mr. Stenchy( experiment 254):
M_zps5abc745f.jpg

After the cute actions of this little experiment, he will release an extremely noxious, foul odor. Jumba will be satisfied after we have experienced the stinky smells of Mr. Stenchy or experiment 254.

Richter( experiment 513):
258px-513_Richter.jpg
Richter will create heavy shaking in the theater by hitting the ground with his tail.

Sample( experiment 258):
latest
He will create very loud sounds and music waves that will blow you away.( not ear damaging)

Sparky( experiment 221):
258px-221-Sparky.jpg
Sparky will fly around the room via light effects projections. The chairs will sometimes be shaking as if they are electrocuted.

Felix ( experiment 010):
250
This little guy will use heavy winds and also you will feel his tail at your legs as he tries to clean the room as much as possible.

Yin( experiment 501):
250px-501_Yin.jpg

This octopus like alien creature will soak us with water from his tentacles. Yes, you might get wet in this ride.

Yang ( experiment 502):
250px-502_Yang.jpg

He will create volcanic lava and shoots it around the room. By projections and light effects it will look like the walls will be burned. Also you will feel heat coming from the middle as he heats up the ground with his paws.

Slushy( experiment 523):
258px-523_-_Slushy.jpg

This experiment will let you experience cold temperatures. Via projections and light effects you will see the room freeze( similar to mystic manor slavic gallery)

Plasmoid( experiment 617):
617_plasmoid_by_bricerific43-d5a69pi.jpg

He will shoot around plasma fire balls. The light projections will simulate the burning of the walls by plasma.

Squeak( experiment 110):

258px-110_-_Squeak.png

This experiment will annoy the guests a lot by talking and talking and talking and talking, OH! and talking...

Houdini ( experiment 604):
604_-_Houdini.png

Houdini will turn invisible and walk around the theater. By shadows and the pressure of the belts you will feel his presence.

Elastico( experiment 345):
345_Elastico.jpg

Elastico will swing around the theater. He will land on some of the seats and the belts will also simulate this feeling. Shadows will also show him swinging around the lab.

Heat( experiment 609):
609_Heat.jpg

With light and laser effects you will experience heat's hot temperatures. Feel the heat coming from his forehead.

Kixx( experiment 601):
601_Kixx.jpg

Kixx will walk around the theater and it will feel as if the seats are hit by him. By shadows you will see him walk around and by special effects you will see that he hit the walls several times too.

Spooky( experiment 300):
300_Spooky.jpg

This one will scare the guests a bit. He will make it feel as if there are spiders in the room or a ghost by shadows or sensory effects.

Slimy( experiment 390):
390_-_Slimy.jpg

Slimy will be shooting slime into the audience. On the walls you will see slug slime left on the walls.

Pj( 133):
133_-_PJ.png

PJ will use practical jokes on us. He soaks the guests with a fake flower and toots his tooter around the theater.

Frenchfry( experiment 062):

062_-_Frenchfry.png

Frenchfry will cook delicious meals. Via smells you will let your nose taste the best food of Frenchfry.

The last one of the show will be

Stitch( 626):
Stitch.jpg

Our last guest will thank the guests for helping him and Jumba. He will slime the guests and walk around the theater as the big finale.

The ride will then be over and the guests are asked to leave the theater.
Stats:
  • ride length: 15 minutes
  • Load/ Unload: 2 minutes
  • FastPass +: no
  • Amount of guests/ capacity: 220
My goals were:
  • Keep Lilo and Stitch in the park
  • Give guests a reason to come back to this ride
  • Introduce a new technology( spinning randomized system)
  • Keep the theater experience
  • Bring more Lilo and Stitch characters to the parks
  • Give the ride a better storyline
  • Blend in with the story's timeline
  • Mix various effects for an ultimate experience

I know that I have talked about this project before, but I never really went this deep into it. I really would like to thank the creators of the Creator Games a lot

Guardians of the Galaxy: Escape from the Kyln

MWgRV9MSUeDX0oAUsFATNKuSDLkEhXbHRRy14ikD-lMcP049KTXzX8lDrWKFPiiIoe20lGQ-ffgKm84oWtz1ib7gDegBOV5KqQwdSy-wPJkraT8s9xMx6QplBaZ5FAWdEImj6Gg

Walking towards what was once Stitch’s Great Escape, there is now a large building resembling the Kyln prison from the movie, Guardians of the Galaxy. Dark and gritty, the prison is foreboding and menacing. As we enter, the interior is just as dark and atmospheric as the exterior. Through video screen windows, we see images of the surrounding asteroid belt. As we move toward the pre-show area, an announcement declares lockdown mode; there has been a prison break. As red lights flash, cast members dressed as security guards guide us into the pre-show room.

Once in the room, we see an audioanimatronic Groot locked in a laser cage. He repeats “I am Groot” a few times, and an alien security guard gives us instructions, telling us to “stay calm, and you will not be punished for this insurrection.” About halfway through his spiel, a mechanical door opens, releasing steam. Out of the steam comes an audio-animatronic Rocket Raccoon, who uses a blaster to free Groot. At this point, Rocket directs us to go to the right in order to board the escape pod. Following his directions, we shuffle into the showroom. We sit down on upward-facing seats in the circular theater and wait a few moments for everyone to settle in. At this point, we see Rocket, in a small pilot pod rise up from the middle of the theater. “Hold on,” he says, “we’re in for a rough ride...”

-facing At this point, windows above and behind the back row and on the ceiling open to reveal screens showing the surrounding asteroid field. As Rocket spins around, paws at the controls, the screens show motion as we leave the Kyln, and steam and smoke fill the room. Rocket reassures us that the escape pod is fully functional and we will probably not die.

Moving upward, the pod experiences some intense shaking as mounted turrets fire at us. After one particularly severe hit, the lights go out momentarily. As a peaceful nebula of stars sits overhead, Rocket maneuvers the ship behind an asteroid in order to buy some time to fix the lights. While he is tinkering, small blasts of air hit guests' feet. When the lights do come on, a swarm of small bugs can be seen crawling around; "Astro-beetles!" Rocket declares. He starts to shoot with his blaster, and light effects, as well as small blasts of heat near the audience's feet, help the illusion. Once all of the beetles have been taken care of, we leave the dangerous asteroid and go back into the fray.

As the seats rumble and tumble, the screen shows us blast toward a larger ship. We are locked in its tractor beam! Laser effects from the ceiling come through the window, and the escape pod is filled with light. Rocket tells everyone to hide, and he turns down the light. As his pod in the center of the room moves below the ground, an alien guard comes down from the ceiling and boards our escape pod. He tells his boss that the ship is empty, and he goes back up and out of the escape pod. As Rocket comes back, we float off into space. The lights are still low, and it becomes extremely cold. Rocket turns the power back on and blasts off through the asteroid belt. As we violently crash into asteroids, we see our escape: a worm hole that is quickly closing. Moving as fast as we can, we speed through the wormhole just in time and arrive at Knowhere. At this point, we exit the ride and shuffle into the gift shop, which now sells Guardians of the Galaxy-themed merchandise.
