Nope, no hidden message that we’re missing, it’s just plain annoying!!.. but apparently quite popular amongst elementary school boys. 🤦‍♀️

T puts it on at night, I go in his room in the morning, and it’s still playing on repeat. I turn it off, he gets up, then plays it again while getting ready.
I’ve changed songs on Spotify on my phone, making the new song play on his echo.. but then it’s 5 minutes of virtual tug-a-war. 🤣🙄🙄
Thank god I am neither in elementary school or a boy so I do not have to enjoy it. 🤣

The first new car I ever had was a 1970 Buick Skylark. I drove that car for over 6 years, put on well over 120,000 miles on a vehicle that at the time were like the rest and you would be lucky to get it to make 70K. Even though it never failed to get me where I wanted to go, when I wanted to go there and equally get me back, I started to get scared. I bought it when I got back from Vietnam. It's the car that I owned when I met my wife, took us on our honeymoon, took her to the hospital and brought two babies back home over a period of two years, Drove through countless blizzards and sub-Zero weather. I got scared because it was without any problems the entire time I owned it and since I lived in the country with two small children I was afraid that if I had an emergency it would decide that would be a good time to let me down. So I traded it in. (I should have had it bronzed and put on our mantle because it was part of so much family history.)

After that I had three or four more Buick's and 4 Chrysler products all of which went well over 100K miles with no issues at all. An Oldsmobile that was OK and then I bought the first of my two Cadillac's. The first one I bought at an auction and did pretty well until about 112K miles before I had to replace both head gaskets while on a vacation trip to WDW. Just a little $3000.00 unexpected expense just to get home. I traded it in for a slightly used, low mileage, Cadillac DHS. The most luxurious car I had ever seen and it fortunately had a bumper to bumper warranty that was used constantly and after it hit a very costly end of the warranty it was a pit that I just threw money into constantly until it also decided that two new head gaskets were require to the tune of 6 Grand. That was a big straw that broke the camels back. I should add that after that first Buick all of my cars after that until I purchased a new Plymouth K car, which was also very reliable. Now I will only lease for the amount of time that the warranty is in affect and then it is see ya... bye bye! The two most expensive cars I own were the only two that practically bankrupt me due to repairs. They were GM's, of course, but my other GM's were just fine.
I've had two Oldsmobiles now. An Aurora and a Bravada. Both I got before hitting 100k miles, and both slowly died after that. They both had so many issues. The Aurora I had in college and my parents paid repairs on it until it finally wasn't safe to drive anymore. I don't think it even got to 150k. The Bravada definitely didn't, and I had that thing at the repair shop so often that I'd walk in and they'd be like, "Okay, what now Missy?" Finally I decided I was done and got my Honda. I test drove Chevy's and Buicks to satisfy my dad. I test drove Toyotas and Hyundai's too. Finally, after test driving about six cars and not finding what I wanted, I went to the Honda dealership, got in the Civic, and was like, "Yep, this is my car." The interior was the big thing. It was several thousand dollars cheaper than the Buick I drove, yet the interior was nicer, and it was far and away nicer than any other cars I'd driven besides maybe the Camry. The GM cars did spoil me some; I had to have leather.

Oh, makes me so grateful for B's taste in music. Every now and then he'll play something annoying, but his taste varies widely. Although it's funny how much of his music he got from me. High school musical...yep, that was me. Taylor Swift...that was most definitely me...Abba, my dad came in and wanted to know where he'd found that, and I was like, umm....😂...Shakira yeah, also me...the Jonas Brothers, 🤷‍♀️😂...oh and then we were listening to this Guardians of the Galaxy mixtape playlist on Spotify, and "Lakeshore Drive" came on, and now that's one of his favorites...he hasn't picked up on Hamilton yet, but that's okay, we'll get there. 😁

What about Ariana Grande? Ooh and I love the music in Guardians of the Galaxy.

I turn her off if I hear her. She's on my list of "Sings fine, but can't stand the antics" list. Justin Bieber and Katy Perry are also on that list. She also tends to curse in her songs, and for the most part, I don't wanna hear that. Hamilton is the only exception because the cursing is occassional.
I get that and respect it. I love Ari though. My mom always asks me why do all the songs you listen to have cursing in them. I tell her mom would you rather me be listening to hard core rap where every other word is bad or Ariana Grande. She deals with Ari and Halsey and the others. 😄

Yeah, her attitude just bothers me. She's such a diva. I guess because I've worked with more than my fair share of her type during my years of music, I can't stand to listen to her. And then I tend to be more critical of music than most people (@Songbird76 and I can go on and on about Adele...). Katy Perry tends to push her voice too much; she'll have vocal damage at some point. And Justin Bieber...ugh.

Plus the cursing in music bothers me. Hamilton it's very occasional, but the music is also telling a story, and the cursing is part of the story. I came from a house where cursing is just not a thing. My younger brother is on the autism spectrum and doesn't really understand when it's appropriate to use a word verses when it's not, so though he won't repeat a word he's heard in a movie or TV show, if he started hearing us curse, he'd start doing it, and not always at appropriate times. My parents didn't really curse much before that anyway. I was shocked one time when the f-bomb came out of my dad's mouth, and it was in reference to something someone else had said. My mom and I, if we're really frustrated or angry, will say "s-t", but it takes a lot (ex. spilling diet mountain dew on your keyboard... ). It's so infrequent in my house that I don't want to hear it in my music. I'll sometimes watch movies or TV shows with a lot of cursing, but if something's rated TV-MA or R, I keep it in my room just in case. Cursing is such a turn off for me; even if there's a guy I might be interested in, if I hear the f-bomb, that's the end of that.

That's good advice you gave to Letteyeti. The more you get out there and drive, the better it gets. Have to say, though, I can empathize with your DD's dislike of driving. There are so many lunatics, rude people and just plain poor drivers out there.

I've never been relaxed driving -- ever. I drive where I feel I'm reasonably safe driving (locally), but do venture out a few times a week into some heavily trafficked areas, which I can't stand. But, it's best to challenge myself every now and then (even though I despise driving ;) .) As a side note, hubs loves to drive -- but, nothing ever phases him. I think it's the difference in personalities. He's way more aggressive than I am. (Years ago, one of his jobs was a Boston cab driver on the graveyard shift. He also dispatched for one of the largest taxi fleets in the city. From what he's shared about his 'experiences" back then, well . . . it's not for the faint of heart!) :p

I don’t despise driving, I despise bein’ stuck in traffic...get me to an Autobahn, STAT...!!!!! :hilarious:

I am not going to say I don’t curse from time to time, but one thing I don’t do and don’t like at all is just cursing to add it to a sentence. Most of my girl friends don’t curse that much unless we get upset over something or angry then we might say something. The F word I rarely ever use at all. If I do curse it is mostly the h word, d word and sometimes s word. Music for me is the voice and I think Ariana has one of the most beautiful voices around. Halsey is another one who does curse in her songs, but many of her songs have a lot of meaning to me so I love her too. I also love Grace VanderWaal who don’t curse at all and Sabrina Carpenter who I think says one curse word in one of her songs.

Probably, many drivers don't nowadays. Yet, there's always those people who far prefer driving a manual. To each his/her own.

Yep, as always, different strokes...!!! :)
I taught DWifey how to drive stick when we bought our new ‘88 Hyundai. After a little while, she became proficient and loved it...!!! :)
When we bought our new (the last new car we ever bought) ‘90 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, we also bought it with a 5-speed stick. I drove the Hyundai and she drove the Cherokee for over a decade before we traded it in on a slightly used Dodge Grand Caravan that was a little over a year old. Obviously, no manny tranny in that thing...!!!!! :hilarious:

It's been a few years since I learned to drive, but I get where you are coming from. To me I don't even think about shifting. You will get there in time .
Edit ; A lot of stick shift is fuel economy especially in urban driving .

Yep, I’ve posted about this before. Auto = slush box with less direct drive, manual = more direct drive...all other factors being same, better mileage overall.
Plus, manual transmissions, generally, weigh less, which also helps with more MPG...!!! :)

Fortunately, at the time that my girls were learning how to drive I owned a vehicle with stick shift and one automatic. They got equal time on both, so they are quite able to use stick now without going through a clutch every other month. My poor pickup sure took a huge clutch hit during that two year time span though.

You shoulda’ taught ‘em to replace a clutch...!!! ;)
As I’ve posted before, myself and a buddy did it on his ‘76 Datsun B210 once.......once...!!!!! :hilarious:
