Just talked to son #1 as I posted earlier daughter in law was supposed to go to Phoenix AZ for a conference on Friday. After 100 presenters canceled the conference has been canceled all together. My son is breathing a sigh of relief.

My students in China are back in school. They have reopened. As the weather warms up viruses will dissipate because they don’t survive in hot and humid weather.

That is what I am hoping the US outbreak started later than China hopefully being closer to spring and summer this will not get as bad as some countries have been experiencing

But it didn't bring down the price of hotel rooms. We didn't realize DH and DS's trip to Austin starts the day after it would have ended. Couldn't figure out why a Hampton Inn room would be over $300 per night. Holiday Inn Express was close to that, too. Then when it was cancelled, and I saw the dates, it made sense. We have looked since, and no change to hotel prices. Good thing it is a very short trip.

Dh texted not 10 minutes ago from work. Told me to go to Walmart and buy toilet paper and paper towels. Apparently there is a run on them now?? This is ridiculous now. Full blown panic is apparently upon us. He said his office managers daughter’s college closed for a month starting today I think. Anyway to appease my dh I ordered paper towels and toilet paper from Target. Cannot wait until people come to their senses. You know if people were this careful about their hygiene all the time we would have less flu outbreaks.
