He'll be dead long before his mother. She seems destined to live forever. For all I know she might have already passed on and has been replaced by a Disney designed Animatronic that was built for a cancelled attraction called HoM (Hall of Monarchs) Charles is my age which means he will be 72 this year. She's 93 and Philip is 99. The queens mother was over 100. Longevity runs in the family, but I think Elizabeth doesn't really want Charles to be King so she will find a way to hang on. She's a tough old broad. (said with the highest regard)

I don’t want to speculate on any reported rift between Harry and William. The media has proven too many times that they can’t be trusted.. so, I’ll only comment on Meghan and Harry’s own announcement.
I understand why people in the UK may not be fond of her. She could be a lovely person on her own, but she’s clearly coming across as a “cake and eat it too” type to the public.
I can’t imagine that it would be easy to be a royal, but at the same time, it is what it is and comes with a lot of perks. If she/they doesn’t/don’t want it, then just step away. Renounce your titles and all benefits that come with said titles. Start on your own, but don’t create a website that takes advantage of your position, while making demands of what ‘ rules’you’ll choose to follow and who can have access to you .
Personally, I would have a lot more respect for a clean break and immediate independence over what they’re doing right now.

I kind of get that. You are going on vacation to get away from the real world and all its issues. Last thing you want is to have to stare at a tee shirt or hat with political statements. It could start arguments. I will say that it could be a bad precedent because offensive could be construed differently by different people. I will say that we as a family went out recently and I cannot remember where it was, but there was some young guy (20 something) wearing a baseball hat that had a curse word phrase on it. I thought it was inappropriate and wished I hadn't seen it.

Sitting, and watching the weather. Fingers crossed for just snow. (Yeah, it is bad). Rain is starting now, but picks up tonight, with flood warnings. Could be a lot of snow or a lot of ice. I will take snow over ice any day. Whatever it is, this lasts through the weekend. I have seen models with almost 2 inches of ice, in which case, do I really want to stock up, if all the electric goes out? Or could be up to 9 inches of snow. Great days for cooking. If the weather people could figure it out really soon, it would be helpful.

I mean, can you blame them? They (and by they, I mean Meghan) get criticized for literally everything, from her family problems with her father to them flying on private planes (one of which Elton John paid for) down to the way she held her baby. Oh, not to mention the fact that she didn't do the doorstep appearance with Archie that Duchess Kate did with hers...but I mean, who wants to step out and be glammed up 10 hours after giving birth? That, and the press seems to think they have a right to pictures of their son, a mentality which I don't get. He's not titled, as a private citizen, he won't get British tax money as an adult, and he's a baby. In the US, we support the president and other public figures with tax money, not to mention we have countless celebrities, but kids are off limits, and most people here get that.
Plus when they were in Canada they didn't have any intrusion from the press. None. So I completely get why Harry is making this decision; he has to protect his wife and son.

I’m not one to get super excited for royal weddings or watch them on tv..and honestly don’t see the point of a constitutional monarchy in today’s world, but I do think this current situation is interesting.
Luckily we aren’t British tax payers so it doesn’t really have an impact on our lives either way. Though I am intrigued on how it will play out.

@Mr Ferret 88 What are your thoughts? I’m not aware of all (or even most) royal rules.. is it possible for Meghan and Harry to just do a clean break? Is there a reason why they aren’t doing so?
