To be honest I question myself about that decision occasionally and I'm not even sure why. Life do get complicated sometimes don't it?

My parents were able to line up burial arrangements at a Veteran's cemetery, my mom is interned there now and space is reserved for my dad. My dad was drafted into peacetime service in the early 60's (?) and was stationed in Germany, but never fought in a war so I'm assuming that you as a wartime Vet would be able to make use of the Veteran's cemetery. Apparently it is quite cheap.

It is beyond cheap, for the Veteran it is free, however not available. My lot is in the veterans section of the Historic Oakwood Memorial Park in Raleigh. It is a city owned park of massive size. It's a specific area set up like a veterans area and discounted in the pricing. The VA's Cemetery in the area was full with no real turnover (if you get my drift) and the closest one, according to them was near Fort Bragg which is about 60 miles away. At this point, I wanted to be near my family. They, of course, could easily move to another area, but, I have decided to stay right here in this area for the duration. The park was established during the Civil War, so it is a very well groomed, restful, beautiful place with a lot of trees and flowers etc. The VA Hospital in Durham is close by and they are serviced by Duke University Hospital, one of the best in the world. I found this spot after an extensive search and arranged to have all expenses prepaid and decisions made so I wasn't going to leave it for my children to have to figure out.

I just read this over and couldn't help but figure that it sounds a lot like I am some sort of saint. 😇 Rest assured that I am not, it was just something that I had to do for me, so I could feel better about what is left behind.

What do you think of the Harry/Meghan distance from some of the traditional Royal Family duties/lifestyle? I think it might be good for them, at least for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if they return to the more traditional life back in England, in a few years. (I've thought that maybe part of the rift was the relationship between Harry and William, and maybe both of them just need some space for a while.)

I'm also wondering if they're getting ahead of things. Charles supposedly wants to streamline who's "working" when he becomes king.
