Yesterday, right before everyone was ready to show up at my house... I started getting a sore throat.... and then I got a fever... ugh... because everyone was suppose to be there in a minute... I sucked it up and let them come anyway... I feel bad because I'm sure I've exposed them to whatever this hell is. Temp of 102 when everyone left at 1130p. Took a hot bath, piled on the blankets, took ibuprofen and mucinex PM, and sweated it out. Fevers gone today.... still feeling sore.... one more xmas to get thru and then unfortunately, I'll probably succumb to whatever this crud is!

Was surfing netflix or was it amazon and came across Bob Hope's Christmas tour of Vietnam he gave shows to all the bases in Thailand and those he could get to in Vietnam. Watched the show from the base I was at ----for a moment I was that 19 year old kid again. Wife asked why are you watching that -----thought to myself simply memories of Christmas past-- friends made and lost

Bob Hope was wonderful to perform for so many years, to our troops overseas.

Glad that you got to see some old footage. Sometimes, it's good to go back in time, and try to remember the good things and people you once knew. However, I'm sure the film was bittersweet in a number of ways for you.

Merry Christmas to you and your wife, and a very Happy New Year to the both of you.

Back to life...back to reality...

Well, Brian appreciated his Otter Box, and he got me the car cover I've been almost buying for the last year. We're practical guys, what can I say? Plus he replenished my supply of tough Sudoku books. I told him about the car wash debacle, and I'm just going to get his car done this week.

He stopped over his Dad's just to drop off his gift - which (practical again) was an ice maker. (The fridge in the house they just moved into - renting - doesn't have an ice maker and they had been grumbling about that.

After a little while, he called me and said they wanted the 4 of us to go to lunch (in 15 minutes lol.) They seemed fine as far as the flu goes, but I still kept a little distance, and washed up a little extra when we came home. That was Brian's cue to pass out on the couch. I did, too, for about 20 minutes, but that was it. When he woke up, we just watched some TV (including a documentary about military dogs.) And he had to go to bed about an hour ago because he has to get up at 2AM for work.

I'm watching Heat Miser and organizing my thoughts for tomorrow morning.
