This weekend is last weekend of outdoor soccer!

We have 3 outdoor games, 3 indoor games.
6 games this weekend and an end of fall season team party with his outdoor club team. End of season party with his school team next weekend.

After this we’ll just be left with 3 indoor teams (I coach one of them) and a basketball team (still impatiently waiting for a schedule for basketball).

I have no life outside of my kid’s sports right now. We live less than 10 minutes from Kings Island and never made it to Haunt as a family.. T did go twice with his friends. We never made it to a pumpkin farm or corn maze for the first time ever.

Sometimes I still sit in shock over how fast our lives have been taken over by sports. Thank God I like hanging out with his teammates’ parents. lol

We are not going to play outdoor soccer for school again, we’re both on the same page with that. The only reason I suggested it this year is because 2 of his close friends left the school after 3rd grade, and I wanted him to spend more time with his other classmates. Not again. 1 fall team is enough. We’ll stick to indoor with his school.

Still sounds pretty busy. The busier your schedule, the faster time flies.

The nice thing with the indoor teams is that they’re in the same location every week. Unfortunately all 3 are at different indoor facilities 🤦‍♀️.. but still I won’t be driving from one edge of the TriState to the other for games on the weekend...and I won’t be driving 40 minutes each way to 3 practices a week.. so even with the 3 indoor and basketball it actually is our “slow season”, and we have a lot of freed up time that would usually be spent in the car.

Oh, and basketball practice is 1 hour x 2 days per week at his school, 5 minutes from my driveway. Compared to 1.75 hours of soccer practice x 3days, with an 80 minute round trip commute.
I stay at T’s soccer practice because it’s not even worth the drive home and back.. I can just drop him off at basketball.

I love outdoor season, but I’m looking forward to some down time!

Aint that the truth! Halloween is this week. Then Thanksgiving. Then Christmas. This year is almost over. Gotta slow down a bit to make it last longer
I just went and made my November go quicker. My sil who has to girls are coming next weekend to visit and thus stay over. Then the following week is youngest's bday. That Sunday I decided we are going to HersheyPark for their Christmas Candyland. Then the town's Christmas parade is the following weekend, then Thanksgiving. Then cheer competitions start with each month having 2 competitions aside from December. We go to Pittsburgh the second weekend in January I think. Just made a hotel reservation.

Do you have to travel and get a hotel for every competition?

Homemade Christmas ornaments made with pipe cleaners. Youngest made the pineapple and dd12 made the hot air balloon. Might be a great project for A or T @dryerlintfan , @21stamps ?

Beautiful! That’s a great idea. I’ll have to show this to T.

Not every one. Pittsburgh is almost 3 hours by car, so that is a long drive. We also don’t know a schedule of when they compete. Competitions start at 8am and can got to 9pm sometimes. I booked 2 nights to cover bases. I can always cancel a night.

We got the shiny kind of pipe cleaner. The kids thought of it all by themselves. I was very impressed with their creativity.

**** HALLOWEEN INFO **** Many towns have rescheduled Trick or Treating even some that had previously posted rain or shine. If you're planning on going out check for the latest info for your area. One town somewhere I believe in NY is waiting until tomorrow to make a final decision

Our little city has taken the stance that Halloween is on Halloween, and they don't alter or mess with the dates. (honestly I think it's ridiculous that some cities do)

This is only the 2nd time where I live that it's happened. The first was after Sandy when almost nobody had power and it's expected to be dangerous tomorrow, wet is one thing flooding is quite another

Just inquiring - is this a new thing to postpone for weather? As kids, I recall we went out on Halloween no matter what. I do recall a few very rainy nights but it didn't matter -- free candy! :joyfull:

Yeah that will probably happen around here. Flood watch out. We've had over an inch since this morning. And the winds are supposed to be quite gusty-45 mph.

@BuddyThomas , I just saw some stats on the Halloween Parade each year in the Village. Something like 2 million people attend this??!! I know that N.Y. does things in a big way and all, but I was floored by that statistic! Will you and Phil be attending tomorrow night? (I know you've attended some fun Halloween events in previous years.)
Hi there. Unfortunately, the New York weather forecast for tomorrow night is 100% chance of rain, so I think it's going to be a big washout. :(
