And who knows how long that has been going on. I don’t doubt that the professors were paid off as well once those kids got into those schools to give them A’s. What a farce. I know there are lots of schools that now offer test optional admissions because of cheating on college entrance exams. They also say they realize some families are unable to pay the thousands for a college exam prep class. One school’s policy explained it as “the test” has been shown not to show how well someone will do in college. A test does not define a student.
I look at some of the people who I know who have Doctorate degrees and I wonder how they got them! Our high school principal was an absolute moron, but somehow managed to get it. And boy was he fond of flaunting it. If someone introduced him as "Mr. Watson", he'd puff out his chest and say "That's DOCTOR Watson."

Ugh, my aunt used to give each trick-or-treater one nickel...kids hated it. I didn't mind the people who gave out stuff like fun pencils or whatever, but one nickel?? And that was back when you could actually buy a piece of bubblegum with a nickel. I don't even know if you can buy anything with a nickel anymore. If you're giving out nickels, you'd better be giving them several.
My neighbor for the longest time was a dentist. And yes, they DID indeed live out the cliche of dentists giving toothbrushes on Halloween. There was one lady on my block who put out an entire bowl of change with a sign saying "50 Cents Maximum" and left the bowl unguarded. Well the first kid who went there stole the entire bowl. That kid was a 7 year old me. There was about $50 in change in that bowl

Did you guys double the scrunched up socks with complimentary colors? Like, I remember for cheerleading, our school colors were black and gold, so we had to wear 2 pairs of socks...one black, and one white or gold, so you had both colors showing. (sorry, bad quality photo...it's a picture I took of a photo in the photo album, and the original picture is from when I was in 8th grade.)

Occassionally, we even reversed the one pair of socks, so we had the black on the outside on one foot and the other color on the outside on the other foot. Did you guys do this, too, or was this just us? It took some convincing to get my mother to let me scrunch my socks...she thought it looked ridiculous. But I loved it...I thought the multi-colored thing was so cute!
I usually just did one pair. I know other kids did 2. They were so soft and comfy.

The vowels didn't make me cringe as much as the scooping to every note did. She's worse than Adelle with that! But to be honest, it sounded like she was trying to sound like Celine Dion...did you notice the "S"s are all more like "sh" the way she sings them. Celine Dion does that, too. Not the best technique, but I've heard worse. I think her voice is fine if she had better technique. She kind of does this crescendo/decrescendo too often, and that together with not hitting the notes directly, but scooping up or down to them, makes it...not as nice? It's kind of....inconsistent, I guess? I think she's trying to make it more dramatic and melodic with the dynamics and suspensions/anticipations, but she does too much of it, so it becomes annoying rather than adding dimension to it. Like a car engine that doesn't quite want to start, so you have to rev it a few times. But she's on pitch for the most part, which is why I can't stand Adelle....she is consistently flat. But, then, to each his own...I know a lot of people LOVE Adelle, and I can't listen to her. I'm betting there are people who love this singer, too, though she wouldn't be my top choice. It's a shame really, because when you think of some of the talent Disney has available to them....like the Voices of Liberty, why did they go this route? But, I guess it's a "moo point" now that the show has been replaced. I haven't seen the new one...are the singers better?
I thought that she was trying to sound like Celine Dion as well.

I can understand leaving out candy, but money?

He has 3 semesters. It’s a whopping $10 in savings for those who paid for the year upfront.
I feel like we need a "confused" emoji along with the like, love, sad, wow, etc. Who was the genius who doesn't know what a semester is? The definition is literally "a half year term in a school or university." By definition, there can not be 3 semesters in one school year. But whatever....At least that math works out. I was thinking you were paying WAY too much by doing the whole year up front.

Thanks for sharing! Once I get caught up here, I'll have to start catching up in trip reports and other threads. I did keep up with @dryerlintfan 's TR because it had just started and it was live, so I followed it. But the rest I will just have to catch up on, one by one.

I’ll send a message to our team admin and ask her. Last thing I want to do is get team disqualified. I won’t pay for Friday night though.. so if we have to book thru them I’ll find out if they can even do a Saturday only stay.
But....how do they know if you went and got a room somewhere on your own? Unless you tell them, it's not like they can demand to see everyone's credit card statements.

It is set up where teams are given a block of rooms. You are given the code of your team. Then you need to log into the tracel companies website and book directly through them. They know how many kids are on each team.

Two things of note this mornin’, though...

It’s fifty-flippin’-five degrees here...!!!!!!!;)
And, we’ve been awake since about 4a because they kept makin’ announcements lookin’ for some passenger named Ashley V.
Ashley V. was apparently finally located around 6:30a.
Pretty sure all 4,000 passengers and 1,500 crew want to do this to Ashley V. before we disembark from the boat... :bored::D;)

Sounds like the one who "needs" the relationship is A's and her mom is doing all the job.
It sounds like A's mom is the one who needs the relationship, and feels she has to "sell" her daughter to prospective friends. Like a telemarketer really trying to sell this vacuum or cleaning product. It comes across as desperate. "Please take it off my hands!!!"

You know I hate the cold as well. We need to invent heated clothes.
Good luck today. I hope T’s team does well and that you have a fair ref. 7:30 am? Yeesh.

the first game was with his school team. They’re horrible. Lost, again.
14 kids on the team which is crazy for 7v7. 6 of the kids have never played before, others just aren’t very good.. the coach rotates 7 per quarter (not sure why SAY has quarters) the team doesn’t have enough time to get a rhythm going.. and the few good players we have are split up, so there’s just not enough good players on the field together. We’ve only won 1 game all season. T hates it. He does like the coach though.. I do too. I feel bad for him that he got stuck with 14 players. SAY requires all kids to play at least 2 quarters, nothing the coach can do about that.

His club team’s game was an hour from his school game.. we went straight there, he changed in the car. That game was a tie, 0-0. First time I’ve been at a 0-0 game at this age.lol. Our boys dominated, but just couldn’t get the ball in the net.. it was crazy. Good ref though, so no complaints there.

He has another game tomorrow. They’re in 1st place in their division, but that tie might come back to bite them.
