I had a hot pastrami sammie with mustard today for lunch. Stopped into this local sub shop (that's our regional term for hoagies), and they had all kinds of different things on their menu. I love small, local places run by multi-generational families. They're all either working behind the counter, or in the kitchen -- and all yelling at each other in a different language. That's a sure sign that the food is good there!

Brought some of the pastrami home, because I couldn't finish it all. Gave it to my dog, who absolutely loved it!

I just saw the Philadelphia 6 o'clock news. The forecaster says the dreaded Polar Vortex will hit our region this Wed., Thurs., & Friday.

Yeah we have been in the negative here with negative wind chills for awhile. We are having a break tomorrow though but we are going to get up to 9 inches of snow, our first big snow storm of the season. After that back to sub zeroes. Wednesday is supposed to be a high of -10 with -30 windchill.

I can't even sympathy like that. sending beer and ammo

I need that too. I live in the same state as ajrwdwgirl, but in a different region. Usually most or all of the state gets a below zero day at some point during winter.

I'm going to hit anywhere from 7 to 12 inches of snow starting Sunday night to Monday afternoon. That amount not bad compare to some other parts of Wisconsin at time frame.

We are going extremely cold also. It is going to be 1 degree outside as a high on Tuesday with a low of 19 below zero. The region I live in worse lows in past years.

Depending on who you talk to, the high is going to be anywhere from 5 below zero to 11 below zero with the low being 15 below zero to 17 below zero on Wednesday.

I was going to make homemade spaghetti sauce, but that got pushed to tomorrow. It got pushed back because the meat for the sauce didn't get taken out of the freezer and I got a pork roast at the store on a reduced for quick sale for $3.50. Couldn't pass that up!

I was going to make gravy but decided on enchiladas instead.

Yah, if I had that kind of money, I'd get liposuction!

Nah, here's what I'd do: I'd hire @donaldtoo to design a nice rustic cabin in the woods (in a snowy area) for me. Then I'd hire @ajrwdwgirl to be the chef and cook pulled pork sandwiches and macaroni and cheese for dinner. @Cesar R M could stop by and take pictures of wildlife. We'd then mount his pictures in frames and decorate the walls of the cabin. @figmentfan423 could sew custom, Disney-designed clothes for me.

I'd invite all the rest of you here for a big winter wonderland celebration, and hire @Mr Ferret 88 as the social activities director. The winner of his puzzle competition would get a free vacation at the Ferret estate in Guernsey!

Don't forget you'd have to hire @Gabe1 to make your Disney drapery

Yep, I can only imagine what it would be like to have that kinda’ money...
If I don’t already know how a client came into their money (e.g. forwarded emails with company/business names and logos on them), I do tend to ask out of curiosity. It’s not like it’s (usually, anyway) classified info, except for the few times it is.
He is the founder and CEO of a company that developes and sells (as well as consults with doctors) neuromonitoring equipment used for brain surgery, and such. He comes from a family pharmacy chain store background.
Apparently, they have a ton of family and friends and do A LOT of entertaining. Thus, the need for spaces such as the “Garage Lounge”.

One really different form of income generation was a couple we had as clients years ago...they photographed jewelry for catalogs and brochures. That’s it. And, they did it out of a home-based studio. But, I was told by the partner that they were in the top 3 such businesses in the country, and in very high demand for their services. Go figure...?!

Anyway, even if we had that kinda’ money, we wouldn’t want or need any kinda’ entertaining compound like the garage lounge client...unless, maybe for DWifeys moms side of the family Thanksgiving gatherings...!!!!!!!
Even then, I’m sure most of us would still prefer the ol’ SPJST hall out in the sticks...!!!

That sounds good. I made my sauce and fried up hamburger for tacos later in the week. Teriyaki chicken is also marinating in the fridge for tomorrow's meal.

My girlfriend from the east messaged me all concerned about us maybe getting 6 inches of snow... and the cold temps.... I had to laugh because 6 inches is really not too much.

Not too much? Really? 6 inches will close schools, cause a mess with roads, etc. Guess Michiganers are tougher than us.

Ha! I'll never forget our winter up here in MA in 2015 when we broke records - over 108 inches. That was a LOT of snow, on top of more snow, on top of even more snow! (Oh, P.S.: That was the record for the season, not just one storm! )

It's a good thing my kids are both free tomorrow!! DS has a fever, cough, and he's feeling pretty yucky. He was up at 3:30 am asking if he could have a drink, and then when I went to put his clean clothes away this morning, he said he didn't feel good, so I took his temp....101.7. So I guess we're just going to hang out at home tomorrow and maybe work on more Minnie ears.

On a sad note, I heard one of my high school classmates lost his battle with cancer yesterday. We weren't close or anything, but it's still sad. He was so young, and he had kids...step kids, actually but I think he was the only father they really knew, so it's sad for them to lose their dad. If you could keep them in your thoughts and prayers, I'm sure they could use it.

No problem...!!!
I’d, honestly, say about 80-90% of the homes we design these days start from the kitchen out. Usually, being wide open to the dining and living/great rooms, they’re gathering hubs for family and friends.
The design I’m working on right now started out that way...how they wanted the large kitchen to layout in relationship to the living and dining rooms. Beyond that, the rest of the programming layout was driven by having to design around about a dozen trees we’re not allowed to touch, and also having to stay out of their “critical root zones”. Funnnnnnn!!!!!!!
Also, many of our clients have large families (thus the need/want for a large kitchen)...I know the SpongeBob guy and his DW have 5 kiddos, and the garage lounge guy and his DW have 7...!!!

Hope your husband feels better by tomorrow. Sorry to hear about your high school classmate. You're right, he was too young to lose his life to cancer.
