I found out the while 16 Shopko's are closing in Wisconsin, the Sister Bay location is still open.

I'm guessing it is due to it being Shopko being located in Northern Door County. Once you hit north past Sturgeon Bay in Door County, there is not a lot of chains with Door County being a tourist spot. The catch is I don't know Shopko is going to be affected in May and June.

The reason I'm saying that is there is a part of North Door County that going to be part of 2 phases of construction concerning highway 42. From May to end of June, there is going to be road construction north of the Fish Creek YMCS through a part of Sister Bay. The Shopko is part of the side Sister Bay with construction. 2nd Phase is going to going to start sometime in October of 2019 with an opening date of spring of 2020.

It also is going to affect Ephraim, a village between Fish Creek and Sister Bay. It is more than a pavement job. They are doing Storm Sewer work also.

The 2nd phase is not going to affect Ephraim at all and wouldn't affect Sister Bay. Its going to affect Fish Creek on Highway 42.

Oh, and I forgot to include, when Dr. Tucker’s son was playing on the Westlake HS football team, one of his teamates went down and into cardiac arrest between plays. Justin’s father rushed down onto the field when he realized what was happening and revived him.
The kiddo had already signed to play with the University of Texas just pryor, but, the doc said no.
Sad, but not sad, because that student lived and could go on to other things in life...!!!!! :)

Wired Magazine did a spread a few months back about the future of retail. The upcoming generations want custom clothing and shoes and are willing to pay for it. Even for their kids. Wired is proposing that we'll end up with measurement pods similar to the scanner TSA uses. We'll go to the physical location, get scanned, and order all our clothing online. Because they'll have the exact measurements of our bodies, we'd have clothing that fit us. We wouldn't need to try things on.

The Wired comment about the measurement pods was very future-istic and interesting.

And we ask for hand me downs from friends. I see a lot of young people do this. The snow suit A wears is too big for her, but she can wear it for a couple years. I got it from a coworker who's daughter had outgrown it. I've read a few articles that showed this is normal now, asking friends and family for discards rather than buying new clothing for their kids.

We had plenty of hand-me-downs. In my case, I got a lot of my older sister's clothing, until I completely had a nutty and rebelled, when I was about 12. The clothes were in good shape, but the stuff my sister liked was NOT my style. (Seriously, when she was 12, she was dressing like she was 50. ) As a pre-teen and teenager, I was big into the latest styles. My mother finally gave in at that point, and let me buy my own clothes (with a limited budget from her, so I chose carefully).

My grandmother had a friend who worked for a wealthy family, and they always overbought clothing. So our family got some of theirs, too -- the great thing was that those kids always chose trendy, expensive clothing, and I really looked forward to their cast-offs (after they wore them once . . . :p )

If anyone needs baby clothes for grand-babies or just a niece, friend’s shower, Walmart has garanimals clothes for $2-3! A huge sale on onesies, tops, and pants. @Tuvalu I thought of you. My Dd has a friend that is expecting in March. I may have gone a bit crazy! :joyfull: These were all just $16! View attachment 341783I had to buy one outfit she could start out in. The ballerina bunny was super cute!

I like those. Do they come in adult sizes? :hilarious:

Just left labadee, tomorrow last day of cruise.. boooo
it passed too fast!

kinda eventful, someone got medvac from the ship via helicopter while we were waiting to get to the bridge that joins to the pier that holds the Allure. The heli had to land in the pier and then pick up the person in question.

Oh, boo, your cruise is coming to an end. Glad you got to go and have fun. Really looking forward to your pictures once you get settled back home. Safe trip home, by the way.
