I was about 8 years ago. Great place if you like country music. It rained the whole weekend we were there so we didn’t get the best impression. There was a nice mall with an aquarium that we took the kids to. A few months later, that same year, the whole town flooded and that mall and the Grand Ole Opry were under water. Hmmm. Guess I was not very helpful. :hilarious:
It seems the weather doesnt like Nashville when you visit lol.

I am guessing they got a great rate for Nashville. One of the previous sites would have been better. Just my opinion.
Considering Disney..
And because 2019 means the start of opening of new offers.. No surprise if they got huge rate hikes compared to past years and hence moving it elsewhere.

Still, Not a fan of country music.. and the offers are.. well.. wishing it was more cultural. No idea why the place seems flooded with "escape room" type attractions.

Never been to Nashville, but I just did a quick Google search and found this helpful link. Looks like there is quite a bit to do down there. (And their claim to fame is country music, so I imagine the Country Music Hall of Fame would be very interesting to see. I don't listen to country music, but would still find that fascinating, as I like learning about new things, anyway.)

I'm looking at those heritage and culture ones.. Would love to see a plantation and war memorials.

In the other hand, not a fan of these wine tours nor the "house of the stars" type tours. Specially when I have tasted them and feel like most of the whole thing is exaggerated.

@21stamps I can't find the scout dinner post and missed my opportunity to quote it, but I wanted to say that this is not going to be something that he remembers as an important life event in the long run. He's going to remember his trips with you, and that you were there at every sporting game, and that you supported him, and that you helped him grow. He's going to remember that you helped him with his homework and taught him to drive. If he does remember missing this dinner, it won't be a a big thing like it feels like right now.
Perfectly stated.

Thanks.. this one hit hard because we missed his last indoor soccer game so we could attend the Cub Scout meeting to make parent gifts for the banquet. He also had a part in a skit that his troop was doing, and he’s worked all year to earn the badges that he was supposed to receive at the banquet.
I think this was my worst Fail to date.

Combine that with his postponed bday party due to scheduling conflicts, and not receiving the baseball game schedule til 2 weeks ago!!
Now there’s literally no venues left for the times we need. (I usually book his bday party in February, March at the latest). So, this year I told him that we’ll figure out something...but I still don’t know how/what.
There’s no way that I can do one at home, I just don’t have the prep time.
So anyway, between those 2 ‘disappointments’ I’m feeling horrible.
He may remember it, but hopefully not in a traumatized way. ;)
Impromptu surprise bday trip to Disney should fix this. ;)

I would have done a surprise GWL stay.. but there’s honestly not one bit of room in our schedule!! I can’t justify arriving at 7pm and checking out a 7am the next day. I already looked at that option.
I am hosting his family bday party at my house.. and I’m also hosting a 30ish person First Communion Party next month.. I’ve scoured the calendar and the only possible bday times would be Sundays @ 4ish.. but everywhere is booked!

I will figure something out. I’m going to dedicate my morning to it tomorrow.

Yeah I almost threw ours away too. And our luggage tags. And then our luggage tab straps, LOL. They sure do pack a lot in that box. I can't find a better picture of this, but this is where they all were when we got our coupons:

Good to know, thank you!

Well, it's certainly more recent than my experience there. I was like....12 or 13 and we were driving to Florida. We stopped there for a night and stayed at a Super 8 or some other budget hotel and it had flooded and they were in the process of fixing it, so it was all musty smelling and it was noisy. We went to Denny's next door for dinner and they were out of everything. There was some big Country Music thing going on and they had been really busy and had run out of a bunch of stuff, so finally we ended up just asking what they DID have because it was easier than telling us what they were out of. So not a great experience, but not really anything to do with Nashville as a place. And it was like 25-30 years ago.

I always hear great things about Nashville. A few people I know actually had their bachelorette weekends in Nashville.. it looks fun!

I went to put in delivery instructions for FedEx since they just about always deliver to the wrong address. It asked me to verify my identity through a series of questions about people living in the house. It asked me for the month my mom was born in and gave me a couple of options, asked me something about myself, etc. Well, it asked me about my dad. It said "What age group most closely matches Fred?" Well, my dad doesn't go by Fred. He's a junior, so he goes by a shortened version of his middle name. Also, the age groups for him were completely wrong; they started out at 77. Which made me think "Well, sometimes he acts like it, but no..." Then I realized they had to be referring to my late grandfather, who did go by Fred and who would have been 83. So I put that in, and sure enough, it verified my identity. Um...okay FedEx. You give me such confidence. :hilarious:
Sounds a bit extreme just for a delivery.

That is the new fad. It too shall pass.

New laptop is coming today! So hopefully FedEx delivered it properly. They make me nervous. I'd rather stuff come through the postal service because they basically get it right. But oh well. Hopefully...
Hey! still better than UPS.

I still get nightmares at the videos of the UPS guys throwing the packages like they were trash.

DHL in my country is the best and UPS is the last.

Sister just called me back to ask if they can drive to Chef Mickey’s. We talked some more.. more Pixie Dust—- sister’s sister-in-law was picked to be an extra in Indiana Jones!!

This is such a perfect first trip and first-in-many-years for them!!

Oh, and she did say “Y o u were right. This place is unbelievable with kids. We’ll be back.”

I hope the rest of the trip goes just as smoothly!
The Indiana Jones stunt extra parts are hilarious!

Almost cartoon-like.

We don't get sent our bands :cry::cry:
Agree, that is something that bummed me from being of out of the states.
They dont ship these to Mexico.

In the other side.. I dont remember if it was my second or first trip.. but my aunt (who is a US citizens and lives where my connection flight was) received them for us. And we had the colors we wanted.

The last time, we received the bands at the DVC front office. All grey. Good thing the clerk was so nice for letting us swap colors.

My laptop got delivered. FedEx still didn't follow instructions and ended up leaving it at the garage when I specifically said to leave it on the front porch, protected, out of sight, and where USPS delivers Amazon packages, but ya know, it's FedEx, so...
oh wow..

At least it came safe right?

It’s raining right now.. Does anyone have recommendations of what they can do anywhere inside?
Boating, mini golf and pool time are all out now.
I'm surprised it wasn't with real characters.. Id definitively be disappointed.
