Dh said that 7DMT had a 90 minute wait early in the AM. TSMM had a 120 min wait this morning. I know they are not at that park, but that is nuts! Hopefully things will die down starting tomorrow. I think most schools should be back in session tomorrow.
Yes, 7DMT was at a 110 min wait when I checked an hour ago.. luckily they had a FP!

I’m kind of worried about HS tomorrow... I really hope they get to do TSMM!

I loved Anne of Green Gables. I still have my original books and hoped that one of my kids would love them. (Girls of course). Nope. I had to force my oldest to read the first one. I thought she would like it because she loved all the Little House books. Did you read the Emily series by LM Montgomery also?
Me too!!! I have so many books that I thought I would pass to a daughter someday. I don’t think T will enjoy Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, or Jane Eyre as much as I did.

Give her time. My mom didn't read Anne until she read it with me. Jane Eyre was so long that it was intimidating, so it took me until I was 17 to read it when I had to pick something off a list for school, and it was the least objectionable option, and Little Women I picked up at 20.

A "classic" book series for boys might be The Hardy Boys.
I don't know if "classic" is quite the right word but you get the spirit of my post, yes?
Oh.. great suggestion!!!!

I bought him Adventures of Huckleberry Finn around this time last year, but he had a little trouble with the dialect in the book.

His favorites the past year have been- Captain Underpants, he’s completed that series.. now he’s on the third book of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.

I HATE both of them!!! Hate hate hate. They’re junk. But the kids love them.

We buy or borrow a lot of culture and history books as well, he hasn’t shown an interest in too many classic yet :(. I’m trying to get him to absorb more than the carp in both of those HORRIBLE series. Oh, one positive, he did read The Little Prince and enjoyed that.

I had the Babysitter’s Club books when young.. but I still loved the classic books. I’m hoping he will be the same.

Now, now... let's not be to hard on @MinnieM123. It's bad enough she has the awful disease of the rare Ithinksnowisgood syndrome, let's not blame her because you chose to feed an army and buy in bulk. You already get the advantage of cost per pound so using a cleaver and knife is a small price to pay.
So true, I get restaurant rates on my produce at the grocery store and we all know how my dh picks out meat:hungover:

He’s a boy... so I don’t see him loving those at any point.

I first read Jane Eyre in 4th grade, it was instantly my favorite. It’s actually one of my ‘security questions’ with Apple. Broke my heart when I called once, and the phone rep asked me how to spell it.

Tell them to do it first thing or at close. When I did it at close last trip, we were able to do it twice. The CM was looking for people to get on it.

I will! They’re planning on heading straight there after JTA signups.. so hopefully it won’t be too bad yet!

Oh @SteveBrickNJ .. I forgot about Goosebumps! He has read all of those, he even wrote a book report on one lol.

Do those count as ‘pop culture classics’? Maybe, right? ;)

Okay, conundrum here, so of course, I must ask internet peeps.

The laptop I want was on sale for $50 off. I felt like I could do better, so I waited on it. Now it's $100 off. Do I jump, or wait and hope it goes down further???
My opinion. There will be no big sales again until Memorial Day. If you want to wait for a better deal you may want to wait. Of course if you wait a whole bunch of months, then it will be obsolete and then you can get it dirt cheap. ;)

Well, he might just need a change of scenery.

I know that some types of towns, cities, lands..etc.. can cause depression on some people.

I sure as hell do not like the state's capital (Guadalajara) and I get sick living there.. but in Mexico City or where I am, I live pretty decently.

So he might just need to try somewhere else regardless of how pretty it is :p

Kinda reminds me of the famous joke you see online "Welcome to Ohio, now you're stuck in Ohio!" (with a list of things they hate of Ohio.)
Ha! We have a few people here who can reply to the Ohio joke.
Ha ha.. I don’t know the joke.. but it was definitely a culture shock at first. I actually love Cincinnati now though.. there really is a lot to do here.. And we’re bordered by Kentucky and Indiana.. so it’s imposible to be stuck.. we have no choice but to cross a bridge at some point ;)

Growing up in California, we had the saying that if you leave, you can never come back. It has to do with the cost of living, and Ohio is the same thing but opposite. It's one of the least expensive states to live in, so it's harder to sell your house here and buy a comparable one somewhere else. Just like in California it's harder to buy a house there if you've moved out of state and your income adjusted to your new cost of living.

I bought Huck Finn for my older 2 for a school literary project. They hated it. They had a dialect problem also. I tried reading it myself and just couldn’t get into it. I bought Animal Farm instead and it went over better. That is not a good book for an almost 8 year old, but it was fine for my 14 and 16 year old.
