Yeah, the rule about Labor Day to June 15 as the official school year has meant that nobody in Maryland has Spring Break any more. We get Good Friday and Easter Monday, but those are the only two days off between MLK and Memorial Day - makes for a pretty long haul. I would be a big fan of a collegiate-type schedule and have always been a huge proponent of year round schooling - 11 weeks on, 2 weeks off all year. Far better in terms of brain development and actual learning as well as preparation for the 'real world.'
Not that my younger ds is getting summer vacation for the next few years due to his music programs but our family quite enjoyed the long summer vacation because my dh can bank vacation hours and we could go away for a month.

If you want some of the snow (you know, just to feel good about the kids being off), I have some you can take! They forecast 4-8 inches for us (a few of the outlier weatherfolks said 5-10 inches) and we got about 16 inches of very heavy, very wet snow. Heading out this morning for shoveling number 3!
Sympathy like. Do you need a shipment of adult beverages, heating pads, etc?

Ok Help Needed from Parents of Little Girls! Please.

My sister leaves in 3 weeks for Disney.. I’m planning her trip. Any “must do’s” for little girls that I don’t know about?

They also purchased the DDP.. kid’s ages are 3&4.. any recommendations on good use of snack credits?

We almost hit a deer yesterday on our way home from A's school! Two of them were chillin on the side of the road and if I hadn't thought to slow down and come to a stop before we got to them..... A loved seeing them though! She ran up to her dad when we got home and said "We stopped our car so Reindeer Sven didn't get died!!"

Plan on a LOT of pool time. Castle Couture does free sprinkles of pixie dust, I'm sure you know about that, but thought I'd mention it in case.
