The man over board systems drama is also a fine example of profits vs security in cruise ships.

The vast amount of cruises go well...I still think of the Disney CM that disappeared. To me it seemed Disney appeared less than eager to help solve the disappearance of her which makes me lean towards them knowing more that they would share with parents. Too many contradictions, too many things that didn't add up.

In situations like this I can only hope the Big Guy has something to say about that in The End.

As fun as cruises are out to sea everyone knows the odds if something goes wrong with the ship, the weather, their own health or an accident. A much bigger risk than land based vacations but most have a nice time and I agree some Lines just seem to attract more disruptive passengers than others...I don't know why that is. That Line is substantially cheaper than Disney is I can understand that draw when large groups are pricing out which line to cruise with. My son has sailed the Breeze a few times without issue but they do seem to have more than their fair share of disruptions. I'd love to hear how that group will get back to their homes.

Cabana Bay is furnished much nicer than the Disney values IMO anyhow. They have 2 types of rooms that hold 6 people, one better than the other. This is nice! Especially the bathroom situation.

We generally went in the fall for 2 weeks. We stayed at Moderates 'cause we could stay for 2 weeks vs 5-6 days at a Deluxe. Now when we started at the moderates they were $89 dollars a night. We'd stay at Deluxe hotels if we had special offers from Disney from APs, special codes, AAA or American Express. Now discounts are not all that special and all pretty much the same.
After the booking the condo for our last trip we almost booked there but decided on SOG for Disney EMH because we knew we'd have more than enough time at UNI we wouldn't need the EMH there

As I've said before I don't care for the value resorts at Disney. I've done them once during Mousefest for a short trip but the rooms and grounds were not what I was looking for on our vacations, especially the rooms/buildings. I'm curious now that they have 'toned down' the rooms at Pop and going to Queen beds would sway my opinions. I could easily avoid the sea of guests in the dining area and buses as Uber/Lyft is cheap.

I guess what intrigues me about Cabana is the more tranquil approach to their value resort. It is why I always liked the moderates, being more tranquil and a visual break from the park(s) themes. Pretty Rivers and lakes, forests of trees (as I am a tree hugger) and awesome architecture has always been my draw to the moderates. Cabana as a value got away from the Red Roof Inn, Motel 8 design, indoor elevators and hallways. They break up the dining into multiple venues plus a Starbucks with their options. Pizza, salads and desserts phone orders delivered where ever you are not just your room. A beautiful staircase to the second level of the lobby. Large pool with a lazy river. What I like is if you want to dine at any other onsite resort restaurant they have a complementary van that will pick you up and drop you off at the resort. They have really stepped up the offerings given it is priced at a value (orlando) level.
This resort intrigues me.
The new one Adventura looks interesting and the rates seem about the same as CB

Epcot has only 1 EMH in the AM for the week we are there, as does MK, and the one for MK is the day 5 of our AP's expire. We aren't going to go to Hollywood Studios unless Toy Story Land opens and that has 1 EMH as well. AK on the otherhand has 2 EMH and that is dh's least favorite park. So really what is the point now of paying so much extra for onsite but maybe to avoid parking fees. You can always take a bus. At least the Resort Blvd hotels are within property so you don't feel out of the bubble.

It does boggle the mind how much they've cut back on both morning and evening EMHs. Paying more, getting less. :cautious:

Happy Weekend everyone! :)

My niece is visiting me this weekend, so we will be heading up to the Mall of America for food and fun! And maybe a little shopping. It's going to be fun but I'm going to be pretty tired on Sunday night, she tuckers me out!

Sounds like fun! Are you going to go on the rides there at the mall? After seeing background images from when the sports people were broadcasting at the mall a few weeks ago, I thought it looked like something I'd like to do! (But I live waaayyy too far away from there . . .) ;)

I will try to post some pictures. I don't know if her mom would want her picture posted so I might have to do a @Cesar R M move and put a smiley over her face. But everyone says she is a mini-me but I will post some pictures. Especially of food. I think we will be stopping at the cookie dough place and Carlos' Bakery!

Agree (cover her face). Just my two cents.
