The rate for SOG for the veteran months is $155 a night (that's the full rate you pay as they don't have tax). I've been trying to price other resorts with expected discounts and cannot really get close with resorts we're willing to stay at (especially since POP is out of the question). AoA Little Mermaid rooms were the only thing that got close, but I think we'll be happier overall at SOG.
Sure. I would jump at $155 a night. Are you also going to take advantage of the special ticket rates they have for military?

@MOXOMUMD , any update yet on your computer issues? Meanwhile, Figgy has been doing a great job filling in with the photos of the day. (But, I also miss seeing yours, as you were the one that started this happy photo tradition. )
I may, might, do have something new. Valentine's gift from someone. I just have to play around with it to figure it out.

When I got home from Iraq I landed in a heat wave in California. The temps were just over 101 ish. I walked around for weeks in a sweatshirt because I was so cold compared to where I had come from.

I may have passed your post, but why is Pop a no go?

From what I'm seeing, we can save an additional $100 off our APs by purchasing through SOG. Plus the AAFES market on site sells everything at normal prices without tax. And the kid eats free at most of their restaurants. The real kicker for me right now is that we can walk to the Poly. The same amount of walking from the LM rooms to the bus stop at AoA will get us from SOG to the monorail.

Plus, you don't see a lot of trip reports from SOG, so that would be more fun to write than ANOTHER one from AoA, LOL

My daughter would kill me if we could see the Nemo and Little Mermaid pools but she wasn't allowed to swim in them. Like, our entire trip would be her asking why she cannot go in them. Non stop. For 7 days.

But you won't see those pools unless you specifically walk to AOA. That's why I was wondering.

No, you can see AoA across the lake. You can see the decorations on the sides of the buildings. Sure you won't see the pools themselves, but once she sees the decorations, she'll know the pools are there. Plus when we missed the AoA bus, we were able to take the POP bus and walk through their pool area to the bridge. I'm sure we'd end up doing that. And then there's also the chance that she would remember the POP decorations from our trip and know that it's right next to the pool. She has a wickedly inconvenient memory.

There's really a very small chance of pulling a covert ops with this one. There's maybe a 0.0007% chance we'd make it two days without her noticing, much less a week.
