This latest strain seems to be a really nasty one. My friend's son had a flu shot, but she took him to the doctor when he first started getting sick and the doctor ended up giving him Tamiflu. The doc told her he's seen so many people with it, and most of them actually had the flu shot, but it doesn't seem to be doing ANYTHING with this strain. I've never had a flu shot because I'm not in a high risk group, but after this last bout, I wonder if I shouldn't get one next year....even if it doesn't catch EVERYTHING, it might prevent SOMETHING.
They're required at my dh's job but he won't get it there. We like going to the pharmacy where one of our school nurses works on Saturday.

OMG!! Daytona is this Sunday??!!! That snuck up on me--seems like the "season" was over just recently--but man, time does fly!!! :jawdrop:
Its only the Daytona Advance parts clash this sunday. The Daytona 500 is on the 18th.

It's season to get used to for drivers though considering differences after the 2015 season and it sounds like its very possible that this might be Kurt Busch's last season as a cup driver. My favorite driver Matt Kenseth isn't racing this year.

I found my first gray hair when I was 19, same age as my mom. But, she has dark hair (she's still not completely gray at 78 and does not color her hair), and I was blond from pops side, so my gray didn't start to become really noticeable 'til my mid-late 30's. I still have a full head of hair, although it's pretty much 100% gray now. Beard is mostly 100% gray now as well, but, my moustache still grows in reddish. Or, at least as of a few years ago when she agreed to let me grow it out for Movember. She likes me to be clean-shaven.
I'd feel bad for you if I hadn't noticed my swiftly receding hairline at that same age. Do you have any idea how much I would give for a head full of gray hair?

Actually, I would give nothing. Turns out I am incredibly good looking even without hair. What hair I do have left is salt and pepper, (mostly salt now) but, my beard, as seen in the picture, is pure white and has been for 20 years.

Yeah I heard the flu shot has a 30% coverage this year. It should make the symptoms milder. Flu is flu no matter how it is shortened. We got ours but I am washing my hands like crazy!!
If I don't get it, it will be nothing short of a miracle. The last three weeks I have been having to go to the VA Hospital to the eye clinic twice a week. It's like wrap around coughing. I've had the flu shot, but, like everyone is saying, it doesn't seem to be preventing anything. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

DD got VWO advice!! So proud of her for how hard she has worked for this!! We knew it would most likely be VWO, but you never know for sure. She has to take the Cito in April, but they told us advice can't go down. I guess there were kids who should have had a higher score than they did, but they don't all test well, so kids were not getting scores that matched their ability. So now the school's advice weighs more heavily than the Cito score. But her teacher wants her to try for a perfect score. Average score is around 535, which is VMBO. You need around 537 for HAVO, and 545 for VWO, highest score you can get is 550. You can miss something like 15 questions and still get a 550, and on the "practice" tests, DD only missed like 5 questions or something, so he thinks she can do it. But even if she bombs it, she still gets to go to VWO, which is what she wanted so she could do the dual immersion program. Tonight is the info evening for that, so we are heading out in a bit.

Sounds like your daughter did well in something and that's very good. Unfortunately, I don't understand any of your abbreviations though. I assume they're related to academics.

Whew! The 18th sounds more like it. Thanks for the update.

Oh for heaven's sake, just eat some French Fries from McDonalds, if you want a full head of hair! :joyfull: :joyfull:

I don't have any gray hair yet. My dad didn't start to get gray till his 50s. My Mom still doesn't have any gray hair despite being older than my dad.

The catch is I am hair challenged like most of the male side of the family. My hair is on the side, the back and a little in front. I began losing hair when I was in college.
My Moustache isn't gray either. I never grew a beard since I never had the desire to grow one.

I watched the replay a little while ago. The rocket boosters actually land perfectly straight on a target at Cape Canaveral. It was soooo amazing!

O.k. Well, let's see. How did that compare with my exciting day? Went to work, ate canned spaghetti for lunch (in the cafeteria--no way that even they made this slop--it was canned). Left at 5:00, and got stuck in a broken down train on the track for 30 minutes, coming home.
