Really, "rice burners" didn't stand a chance against a mid-80's 300ZX? Even back then some of those "rice burners" did 0-60 in just over 3 secs.
The Isuzu Amigo from '99 was beating 'Stangs off the line? The Amigo had a 3.2 liter V-6, and it's top 0-60 was 8.7 seconds. The Mustang GT from that year had a 0-60 of 5.4 seconds. Even my '85 'Stang had a 0-60 time of 6.4 secs. Off the line for a few feet maybe, because of rear end ratio and higher torgue. Outdriving 'Vettes in a '79 F-body boat Camaro Berlinetta with a 305 c.i. late-70's smog motor...
Sorry, but, pretty sure there's a lot of Bravo Sierra in your post...!!!!!![]()

Too manyI sometimes wonder how many grave markers could contain the words... "But, I had the right of way."
When I was in the transportation business, I used to teach a class on defensive driving. I used that line a lot. Right of way does not now and never has meant that you can just proceed because of it. I know many people per year have died because "they had the right of way" and just assumed that meant that nothing bad could happen. After all they were just following the law. Right of way, does not stop a speeding vehicle from hitting you. All it does is assign blame so that in court the people you left behind can feel vindicated, but, not comforted.Too many![]()
There actually isn't. We're not talking track stuff here...just stupid, leadfoot shenanigans on mostly inner city straightaways. You hit the nail on the head with the Amigo...fun little truck. The Camaro/Vette story was on a stretch of highway that wasn't fun to drive even under the best conditions - I only out-drove him because I was willing to take more risks. Like I said...I had a major leadfoot and almost lost my license because of it. I was young and pretty stupid. I always chalked those instances up to circumstances rather than mechanics, but whatever...I had a ton of fun at the time.

Oh, the Lion King musical is amazing!! I saw it several years ago, but I'm sure it's still wonderful. Have so much fun there!

We met a family with three service dogs at Beach Club several years ago. One of the dogs was an alert animal to alert of a diabetic emergency, and the other two were asthma alert dogs (which I had never heard of before, but considering Belle will do the same thing for me, I don't doubt it), one was almost retired and was training the younger one. The dogs were more well-behaved than a lot of guests. I even petted one of them, and I'm not a dog person. Those owners were also very wise; they only went to the parks at night when it wasn't too hot for the dogs.
Speaking of Belle, this morning I was having asthma symptoms, and she would not leave until I woke up and used my nebulizer. After I used it, she went and ate and used her litter box. Jasmine is also starting to be aware of me not feeling good; I also had a migraine (yeah, pretty much a mess today) and she came tried to make me feel better, then took a nap with me.![]()
I'm glad I've always been a nice safe driverOh, I definitely get all that.
There were plenty of times, back in the day, when I just simply took more risks than/outdrove others, too.
It's just that, all things being equal, the true performance capabilities/comparisons were inaccurate.
There's a stretch of winding, hilly road here just west of town that folks test drive high performance vehicles on all the time.
Let's just say the outside edges of my tires became worn round pretty quickly.![]()
I once topped out the Mustang on a long stretch of open road at 135-ish mph (the speedo didn't go that high, but, that's what Road & Track tested it at) to catch another 'Stang that got on the road in front of me and took off like a scalded dog...yes, definitely a rush...!!!!!

And yes, I don't drive like that anymore either. Not for a very long time.![]()
You need to dream a bit bigger! House with a few palm trees, lanai and a poolGiven the track history of meteorologists in our area this year it is become pick the opposite of what the weeks weather says.
They even missed that mini tornado or severe weather that day. So I hope they are equally as wrong for winter.
FLORIDA!!!!!! I'm dreaming of our GoldenGirls Condo![]()
