We interrupt this program for a special announcement. We were at DD's school tonight for an informational presentation about choosing a high school and about the advice 6th graders get this year about which kind of school they should be looking at. The resource director is part of the team that decides on the advice for each kid, so she was there and she approached us afterwards and asked how DS is doing and said she had gotten an email today that the admittance committee approved his application and asked her to send his records so they can place him in the right level or something, but in any case he's approved to go to the special school! We haven't heard it from them yet, but I suppose that's because they needed info from her to put him in the correct class so they can give us all the information at once. And she asked when he can start and they said probably Monday. :D So relieved!!!!
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

Excellent news! :)

Sorry, I am far behind, and just seeing this. So sorry for everyone. Suicide is so difficult to understand, and heart breaking. Hopefully, the teachers and students are getting extra support at this time from grief councilors.

Thanks. It has been a difficult and strange time. The support has been good. And I appreciate all the support and kind words from all of you too.

And those picnic tables save us every time when we are traveling with our pup. I always have to remind DH when we are going to or from way up North, that under the circumstances, it is ok to stop at Culver's for lunch and dinner. Our favorite is the largest Culver's outside of Janesville, but I have 2 in the town I live in.

DH has been known to accidentally come home from work with a couple of pints of custard.

The custard is always a must when visiting Culvers! Hmmm, now I could go for some frozen custard. Good thing it is a 20 minute drive, that will keep me rooted in my recliner! :joyfull:

Daughter: Why

I could see Culver's fitting in nicely in Orlando. I believe it is maybe the Tampa area (?) that is suppose to receive a Portillo's which will also fit well too, also with a diverse menu. When I was a kid and we would spend about a month in Florida our go to restaurants were Morrison's Cafeteria's that had wonderful variety and quality food unlike the Buffet Houses of the new millennium. Back then it wasn't overly processed can and frozen food from places like General Foods that provide schools and Universities their food products. It was home made cafeteria food and we ate there many times a week. Their fish was to die for and as a little one I loved fish. The other place we ate lunch almost daily back then was Lum's. Lum's had the best roast beef, not like the processed meat substance that large fast food chains use. As far as I know the Lum's are gone but Portillo's would be a great replacement for them in that area.

Culver's Flavor of the Day ticks my DD off around here. She counted last time we were there. 28 out of 30 days had Nuts in their
Flavor of the Day. Given the likelihood of cross contamination she just doesn't do their ice cream.

It's kind of funny (in an ironic way not ha ha funny) that your DD avoids the custard because of the nuts, those are the flavors I like best. I seem to hit the Flavor of the Day when it has berries. I only like berries in my margaritas!

We have a Portillos near us now (in Woodbury MN) and it is always packed. I like the sausage there.

Sometimes in matters of health we rush to form our own conclusions too quickly. Some doctors are better at explaining things to their patients. Others may assume you understand, and don't spell everything out in great detail. My husband says that I ask too many questions. Being a good surgeon is a great thing. However, there's something also great about a doctor who listens to someones questions regardless of how trivial they may seem. After all, he may have done the surgery thousands of times, but this will be my first.

Exactly.
I've been told by many doctors before that I'm a dream patient. I leave nothing out. Any little tidbit, or clue can be sooo important.

I read ahead a little today. Sincerest prayers that your surgery went well.

Me at Portillo's is always a difficult choice. I'm not a real big fan of most sausage so that is off the list there (but I've been a life long patron of The Brat Stop in Kenosha WI) I love their Italian Beef, Dipped with Sweet Peppers the most though closely tied is their Hot Dogs and onion rings. Third meal I love is their Chopped Salad minus the Chicken (don't like meat in my salad) The ManChild loves their flamed burgers, he says they taste so much like a real BBQ'd burger. DD usually gets a chopped salad with a side of cheese fries.

It was so windy today that most of the the leaves in our yard blew away! Yay no raking for us, hubs is going to mulch the rest with the lawn mower. :)

With all the rain they are stuck to my driveway. Maybe tomorrow they'll blow away, it is so windy here making the cold temps worse. For the moment it has stopped raining but they say it will be back tomorrow. :cautious:
