Well I try and avoid the AC in the summer. It can get to 87 in the house before I consider putting it on and then I will set it to 83. I remember coming home a couple of weeks ago, maybe last, when it was in the upper 80's. DH had the AC on and it was set at 80. I walked in and said, "why is it so cold?"

Hubby likes our house at 72 in summer. That's when I freeze. During the winter the same temp. so I freeze then too. I've been known to put a blanket in the dryer for about 10 minutes and wrap around me.

This is exactly what I remember if we ever got any ticks visiting my grandparents farms.

And here I was horrified that you had declawed your cats and were thinking on declawing Jasmine.

Well, you would think I was ripping out her claws one by one the way she squeals when I clip them. She's a drama queen.

There's absolutely no reason to declaw a cat. There's so many available options out there to keep them off the furniture. Sticky tape, claw caps, scratchers, the list goes on. Not to mention also cheaper. Not to mention declawing can create behavioral problems, like eliminating outside a litter box because their paws are too painful to use the litter box. In parts of California where they banned declawing several years ago, shelters have seen a decrease in cats surrendered by owners due to behavioral issues.

Me too, but it's not as good ; being in Colorado. Does any come with a heater?

The like is because I hear if you get a reaction your chances of getting sick are lessened. I'm hoping it isn't just an old wives tale. My older ds is home today so my dh, my ds and I are going to get ours today

Great! It takes two weeks to get full immunity.

I still prefer using the English system. Easier for me to visualize a foot as opposed to centimeters. Guess it is what you are used to.

I don't think I could change at this late date. I make sure I buy measuring cups with both measurements . I remember seeing them with only milimeters. No one bought them.

No flu shot today for myself or my dh, only seniors or those with a medical condition for now. My ds with autism qualified but my celiac didn't

That doesn't make sense. Our grocery store pharmacy has given out over 500 shots, that's everyone in our area. All were we asked, was ; are you over 65? Huh, can't you see all these wrinkles!

Ok I'm going to be a killjoy for a post so if you don't want to be bummed out skip on by but I just need to share my huge bummer of a day....

After lunch today all the teachers were called to an emergency meeting (it was a quick one in between classes so the kids weren't left on there own for too long). The news was that one of our students had committed suicide last night. She wasn't in my class anymore, but she was last year. She was in foster care and had many issues but I always got along with her really well and enjoyed having her in my classroom. She had so much potential I am just devastated to see that wasted and so disheartened that she considered that her best option. I just can't understand it. This is the second student I've had that has turned to suicide, the first one was when I was a first year teacher and despite being older now it is just as tough to deal with. Sorry for being a downer and thanks for reading.

That's too bad. Young kids don't understand that life can change....for the better...or you learn more coping skills as you get older. So very sorry.

With me it is a height thing. I wasn't always this way.Very much the opposite in fact. For some unknown reason it came about after I gave birth to my kids and very, very shortly after. Don't get it. Not rational. And so was never that way pre-motherhood. Me the only thing I can think of is a chemical imbalance that pregnancy thwarted. The mind is a funny funny thing.

I have a phobia about being in the Dr.'s office. If I could get a shot every day, I would choose that over going to the Dr. Makes no sense to me. I did, get a lot of shots and now blood draw's every 6 month's now. When you get above medicare age, they test several things each 6 month's. I'm never used to getting a tech. that takes 5 times to get it right. Now, they go for the baby needle...I have so much damaged tissue, that eventually they will take blood out of my neck. Not looking forward to that.

We found a little box that buzzed at a frequency that ticks didn't like...our dogs wore that on their collar. They hated having that taken off, when it was bath time. They loved when it returned after they dried off. I never saw any ticks or fleas on our doggies. But we lived over a landfill, didn't know that when we bought the house. Both dogs, died at 14 from cancer. That neighborhood had a lot of people die of various forms of cancer. My best friend died of lung cancer at 26. Never smoked a day in her life. Sometimes, things just don't make sense.

So my grandparents siblings filled up another (2 years later after the first one) 2 ton dumpster of their crap, can you say that? Anyway, the only room left in the house to throw things out is the garage.

My grandmother had six clown statue thingys that played music, one of each of her grandkids DON'T WANT. No clowns for me.

I hate clowns. Always have, always will!

We leave the house at 3 A.M. to go to the airport. It takes a couple hours, to get to the airport. Then we go through security and wait for another two hours to board. 4 to five hours on the plane. Another hour to get the luggage and get a taxi. 35 minutes to get from MCO to our hotel. And it's two hours later, local time. Wait a minute....We leave this Saturday. I got a little windy there...didn't I?
