The last time we were at a diner was was when we drove to NOLA 2 years ago for the weekend to celebrate youngest DDs 21st birthday. I posted about it at the time.

It's no old railroad passenger car, but, it's every bit a diner, and check out the Mickey "watch" clock on the wall...! :)

Good morning and after today's yuck I'm looking at 80 and lots of sunshine for the next week to 10 days. Happy dance:inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove: with luck the pool closing will be the 1st of October. That's when they close it at the latest no matter the weather.
Rain and possible snow this Sat. and Sun. I'm prepared, I know how to turn on my fake fireplace! And make hot chocolate .

I loves me a greasy spoon! Diners are the best, and very hard to find now. There's a few left in my state. Some years ago, hubs and I had this hobby of driving around New England to find diners. It was fun! Love the style of the one you went to--that's exactly how I like to see them (the few that remain . . . :cautious: ).

About 10 years ago, there was one that was well known in our parts, but the owner sold it to another chef. The new chef completely changed the menu into some sort of gourmet cooking menu, and guess what? It didn't last a year under the new ownership--epic fail.

Your REAL diner deserves another bow here.

I don't know if it's still there, but in 1998, my choir sang at Carnegie Hall and my mom and my brother drove up to see the concert. They stayed with some cousins in Connecticut and took the train into NYC every day. There was a quaint little diner in an old train car in the town where they caught the train. I thought it was Baker, NY, but I can't find even the town on google, so I might be wrong.
