The Chit Chat Chit Chat Thread

Nope, not chicken. I don't come on here to fight with anyone, just chat. Sometimes people can get a little carried away on the forums or take a different direction on things but honestly if I don't want to read it I just pass over it. Some days it is easier to pass over than others, for example a few weeks ago I reacted to something that wasn't a big deal but with some things that were going on personally I lashed out a little. And I have shared some stuff that probably bummed some people out but sometimes I think it is nice to be able to share things with people we "know" but don't know either. I try to stay positive on here though because I do like chatting with everyone on here, I think it is great that we have people from all over with different perspectives.

And, that's exactly my point. I don't come on here to fight, either. I just can't figure out why so many here bring up volatile issues that they damn well know aren't appropriate here. The mods have reminded all of us time, and time, and time, again. It's like certain people have no self control and all they want to do is spark a fire and laugh at the results.
I have also, over the years, just blown past the vast majority of it myself, but, I'm just tired of how it is ongoing and seems to be getting worse here. I mean, how many pages of dress code arguments do we need to endure here when it obviously needs to to be in the political and social issues forum. Now, who exactly was doing the fighting?!?!?!
We all share about our lives, daily happenings, health issues, joys, sorrows, etc., here, and that, of course, is perfectly fine, but, if you know something is going to be a hot button why would you even go there?! Take that crap somewhere else.
It's not rocket science. Good grief, already.

Donald, please don't take this the wrong way, because we've all very much enjoyed your posts over the years and really have enjoyed talking with you...

Right now, you are the one causing the drama, and I'm not backing that up. Sorry.

You should be sorry...
Your post is laughable.
And, believe me, I'm being kind.......

Wow. All too chicken**** to back me up...

As you've always been one of my favorite people on this chat thread, quite frankly, you're the last person I'd expect to say something like that against other members here--who were not even involved in the conversations you didn't like.

If you don't like certain, specific topics, kindly report those to be moved to other more appropriate threads. Although there may have been a few political references in discussions by some, from time to time, those fizzled out quickly, IMO. However, I didn't see how the dress code policy discussion among some members was inappropriate. (I don't have kids, so I more or less just glanced through that section, and moved on.)

Regardless, you're more than welcome to your own position about what should/should not be included here, according to the guidelines of the forum. (Sometimes things may be open to "some" interpretation by individuals, but no harm was meant.)

Speaking from my heart here, my hunch is that there are other things going on (outside of here) that are causing you stress, and maybe a post or two here turned out to be the "straw that broke the camel's back" so to speak. With all that's been going on with the hurricane, and flood aftermath in your lovely state of Texas, that's more than understandable. Prayers and good wishes to you and everyone. You're in my thoughts.

We go through 2 four gallon jugs every week. I know I could do it slightly cheaper at Walmart but being of small stature I'll pay the extra dollar. I can usually find someone to load in the cart and someone to load into the truck. And I refuse to bring into the home. Funny sometimes they live in my truck for days riding around with me.

I don't know why, but I found this funny! When Gabe wants a glass of water, she goes out to her truck! :joyfull:

Not as much shopping this trip, as we spent the better part of two days in Disney Springs this March.

Ski wants nothing but Test Track Chevy shirts. Son #1 apparently wants MORE Disney sleep pants. Hubby hasn't said what he wants, as we managed to get his giant Stitchie in the spring. And I want another Stitchie print for our bedroom, any new garbage can salt/pepper shakers (that I don't already have), two more Mickey trivets, the flatware set I should have bought in March (when we were driving, and luggage weight was not an issue), and maybe a new Dooney.

See, hardly anything at all.

For you, that is hardly anything! ;) (What, no new Dooney purse for you this fall? You'll cave . . . another Dooney is in the stars for you, kid! ) :joyfull:

^^^^^Pretty much this. On the upside BBQ will most likely be the topic for the next couple of days:inlove: Sorry I thought the story about having to wear baggy a baggy sweat suit was a funny one, not political.

Well, Jasmine got stuck someplace again...my door chest. She jumped in and being black, I didn't see her, and shut the doors. That little fluffball needs to control her curiosity. And her owner must learn to check before closing any doors to make sure there is no kitten present.
look at it this way it's good practice if you ever decide to have a minnie SWG

Be careful, I heard that constant exposure of the plastic to the sun, will leech some of the plastic oils into the water. Making it kinda a cancer risk.

Unsure if its even true but I do not drink water that has been in plastic containers that have been exposed to the sun.
Mine to and from the store ride in the trunk and once home are kept under king sized pillow cases even when empty.

I want a puppy.

I took my Mom to dinner tonight. Outside the restaurant on the old Great Lakes Naval Base there was a Puppy. A golden retriever 12 week old puppy. She was tranquil. Licked hands gently, happy for the love of strangers. Love retrievers. She was a big pile of love.
If we go the puppy route we're leaning towards a Pom. With James getting older and maybe leaving home in a few years something smaller would be best. Herding dogs were great when the boys were little they kept them in their place:joyfull:
