I have many pairs of gloves and mittens--all different colors, designs, etc. My favorites are the Nordic designs with the snowflakes, though. I have those in black/white, red/white, blue/white and grey/white. Aside of those you should see the box of all the mittens and gloves I have!! My guilty pleasure every winter!! Makes me happy!! Cold and snow--bring it on!! :joyfull:

I have quite a few too. My favorites are my nordic designs (just celebrating my heritage there), and my Minnie Mouse ones. My Minnie ones need repair though, they are flip mitten/gloves and the button that holds back the mitten on the flip fell off and I need to sew on a new one.

Wow. All too chicken**** to back me up...

Nope, not chicken. I don't come on here to fight with anyone, just chat. Sometimes people can get a little carried away on the forums or take a different direction on things but honestly if I don't want to read it I just pass over it. Some days it is easier to pass over than others, for example a few weeks ago I reacted to something that wasn't a big deal but with some things that were going on personally I lashed out a little. And I have shared some stuff that probably bummed some people out but sometimes I think it is nice to be able to share things with people we "know" but don't know either. I try to stay positive on here though because I do like chatting with everyone on here, I think it is great that we have people from all over with different perspectives.

Well, Jasmine got stuck someplace again...my door chest. She jumped in and being black, I didn't see her, and shut the doors. That little fluffball needs to control her curiosity. And her owner must learn to check before closing any doors to make sure there is no kitten present.
Did she mew loudly and found her later on? or did you opened the chest thingie later on?

There is a semi truck stopping at our on Sunday morning to collect donations to take to Texas. When hubby emailed the congregation about it he got lots of calls and texts with people from our congregation and others that were leaving for the weekend and wanted to drop stuff off yesterday afternoon. It was really heart warming because for the last few weeks our church has been gathering supplies to send to a Reservation in South Dakota where our youth & adults have been doing mission work the last 3 summers and that has gotten a lot of donations as well. But it was nice to see that people around here didn't balk at being asked to give more, they just do it willingly.

We are a bunch of kind hearted folk as a majority. We can B*tch an moan about the petty things here on this thread but deep down the overwhelming majority of us are kind souls. I like that in my life.

I don't want to use them yet but there are some good looking mittens there. I am partial to mittens over gloves I like the black nordic design the one towards the bottom between the black/white snowflake and the black speckled pair.

Cute! I don't have a sing pair of mittens anymore. Walt was a pup that was a big strong boy. I needed full hand control, meant gloves over mittens even though mittens kept my hands warmer.

Today I met a 9 week old golden, going to be a big girl. I also saw but didn't meet a black lab pup a neighborhood family has just brought into the neighborhood I guess about 10 weeks old, happy lopping along on this leash thing.

Oy am I feeling the TUG of a pup. Bad week on the loss of Walt anniversary.

One of our Walmarts has a machine so you can refill your jugs:joyfull: My dh bleaches our empties so we mostly refill instead of exchange.

We go through 2 four gallon jugs every week. I know I could do it slightly cheaper at Walmart but being of small stature I'll pay the extra dollar. I can usually find someone to load in the cart and someone to load into the truck. And I refuse to bring into the home. Funny sometimes they live in my truck for days riding around with me.

Yup same here, as I've mentioned. I think every state in the nation is helping out. So nice to see and hear about in our otherwise crazy world! Many, many good people here--and we need to hear more good stories about the kindness of others!!

I agree. I have several friends that are living in the Houston area fortunately none of them overly impacted. It is so nice to hear all the good things they too are doing and the focus on the things we are doing for Texas. Warms the heart to do good and to hear most Texans are focused on what we are doing. Love when we are all in.

So today in route to my Moms we hit Schaumburgs Septemberfest in the morning.

It is a cause near and dear to our hearts and have been going for years and years at this time. In the morning it is also Free Rides for children and young adults with special needs and their families. And for those of us that don't qualify the funds go to special Olympics.
It is a win for all. The music is cut off for those with autistic sound issues, all you heard was the glee of those before the offical fest opening having fun for free. A annual fun and rewarding event for my family to support. Then forward onto my Mom's. Another saga of aging it was today. A good visit but kinda seeing the writing on the wall so to say. Rough week with all that too.

No I understand...I had those spells for months after having our dog put to sleep. Every time I'd see something about pets, I'd start bawling. We lost him about 2 weeks before my mom died, so I was a MESS for a while. He was 17 and was miserable....incontinence, a huge tumor, mobility problems...my mom had him put down when he wasn't able to make it to the door to go outside to the bathroom. She was so sick herself that she couldn't take care of him and my brother and I both lived 4 hours away. I hated it, but we really couldn't let him suffer anymore. I'm glad you can look at pet stores at least.

Blah. I lost my Dad and then Walt and couple that with some mega family issues makes you miss your fur ball friends even more.
Nice to have my cyber friends that are so supportive. It genuinely is appreciate, I see you can relate. Oy. Hugs to you too.

Thanks Cesar. Every once in a while I pull a photo from the net that has some odd garbage that hangs with it. I can always delete either the garbage tag a longs or minimum delete just the garbage. That cute Pooh photo would not let me delete any of it so I asked admin for help. Odd.
odd garbage? I'm confused, when you say "pull from the net". You mean as in downloading OR as in linking directly to the website photo in question?

Be careful, I heard that constant exposure of the plastic to the sun, will leech some of the plastic oils into the water. Making it kinda a cancer risk.

Unsure if its even true but I do not drink water that has been in plastic containers that have been exposed to the sun.
