With all the talk here lately about time in the service my dh is getting his father and uncle who served on different ships in the China Sea at the same time to dictate all their memories of that time both good and bad for future generations. THNX for getting the ball rolling on that.

I recently gave my oral history to a veteran museum here. I can't imagine them every using it for anything now but having future generations being able to hear our stories is a really cool idea

Do you get any discount on TS restaurants, being a DVC member?
My dad has Tables in Wonderland, which I believe is 20% most TS restaurants (Teppan Edo is one of the exceptions). You have to have an AP, DVC, or be a FL resident to purchase the card. The APs give 10% or sometimes 20% off TS, but with a more limited selection, and alcohol isn't included.

The current AP discounts also give 20% of a lot of QS options. They also give 20% off merchandise at most locations. I don't have a copy of the DVC card, so I just use my AP. Discounts are pretty much the same. DVC members also get discounts on APs, so my pass was much cheaper than a typical AP, and we upgraded to get water park admission and they didn't charge us.

You're talking about shoes for a physical reason, I'm referring to shoes that are a social requirement. Needed to stay in style. Not functional, strictly fashion.

Mostly true. That is why I wear these particular Asics model, but they are cute too! Now Cole Haan, I again wear for comfort, but I can't say I've ever saw a Cole Haan I didn't go for. They are works of art as are my Prada that over the years my Mom would buy me a pair a year. Wouldn't want to walk an airport concourse in them but they are the 8th wonder of the world, engineered well and as comfy as any heels could be. And just so pretty. These are similar to my ones that I wear with leggings or jeans.

Maybe it is a girly thing?

Well that is somewhat true. Some people have the intelligence not to stand on a balcony and look at the solar eclipse. Others not so much. Our commander in chief comes to mind today. Some people tend to stare at the Sun despite themselves.

Wow. Thank you, yet again, for the political commentary that is not supposed to be here in this thread.
Was there wine involved...?

That looks good, I'm not a fan of pouches but may try and replicate it with fresh ingredients. THNX ps I'd also have to quadruple the recipe at the very least

I'm going to try maybe next week. I'll let ya know about the sauce. I bought 2 pouches. I looked at the amount of sauce in one and knew that wouldn't work. I'm not big on pouches either but I need a baseline to analyze and duplicate. When I hack my own versions I try and get rid of the starchy or gel consistency of many of these pouch gravy's, it is a texture thing with me. If I'm doin'n starch it will be bread or noodles. I don't waste my carbs.

Good morning poor James on top of having no summer vacation he has to be up and out a bit early today. They finally have a fun day with no work for the music geeks so they all have to be at the school early for the bus. First football game Friday and school doesn't even start for 2 weeks. The early start to the season has something to do with a project at the other school

I saw the girls in the pool about 10 days ago. Actually as I was walking the Riverwalk I could hear the coach talking to the Girls in the Pool. It was their first day. A lecture about staying away from "Boys" during swim season. Nothing good comes from boys during Swim Season....I'm sipping coffee, laughing while walking the woods.

I've known the coach for over 2 decades at least. I knew his wife, BIL (he was my sons first coach) and SIL (she taught my DD to swim) and his MIL as we did school things together long before he married into that family. Most kids he could at least try to get into their heads, not mine nor me as a parent...I knew too much.

Funny during a summer meet my DD dislocated a pinky finger in a lane-line during warm-ups, coach response go see if you can get some ice at the concession stand. My DD met me as we arrived before meet started and repeated the interaction. I walked over to him in the coaching area held up her hand and after a bit of excuses err ahh ums I looked at him and called him a Pin Head in a dumbfounded tone while smiling in disbelief. His SIL the assistant coach of this club burst out in laughter and he was taken a back by both of us. SIL (the one that taught her to swim) when she stopped laughing went on to explain that her family often referred to him as a Pin Head.
