Bookwise that's all I read, fantasy/medieval history/mythology. It's been that way since early elementary school. Our library has some awesome sales a few times a year (sometimes paperbacks 5/$1) so I stock up.
I read almost anything with the exception of horror and erotica. I loved the Shannara series, but I can't even remember anything about it now. And they did a TV mini series based on it, but it was a bit different. Percy Jackson was great, too. And there was a really cool trilogy I read and I can't remember the name of the trilogy, but I remember it was by Libba Bray. I liked that one because it had female main characters, and it was also kind of a historical fiction book because it was set at a girl's school around the turn of the century (1900 ish). I love that combination of fantasy and historical fiction. Well...I love books in general. I don't have too many books, I just have too few book cases. When I lived in the states, I did the same thing you did...on the last day of the sale they would sell books by the bag. big paper bags, and you just fill up your bag and it was like $3 per bag. When I went home in 2013, I happened to be there when the local library was having their book sale...and the people we stay with, she's the librarian. I came home with 62 books. Last summer, we were too early for the book sale, so the librarian let me into the basement where they had the books all ready for the sale...I had very limited space so I only got 12 and she was amazed at my restraint. My husband was not impressed. He thought 12 was still a lot...I was like...hey, last time it was 62!!! LOVE the library book sale!!!

He must like babies then. A lot of men aren't baby people.
That's one thing I love about Europe...I noticed a HUGE difference in the family culture when I moved here. In the US, you go to a restaurant, and it's always the mom who is carrying the kid and the diaper bag, and the mom is the one feeding the kid or taking the kid through the buffet line. Over here, it's almost always the dad. And my husband is a hopeless "flirt" with babies. Always playing peekaboo with the kid sitting at the next table, or talking to the baby who is crying in his stroller with a frazzled looking mom who doesn't know how to calm the baby. Fathers here are much more involved in general. At least in the Netherlands...don't know about other countries.

Both hubs and I like history and we were looking forward to it. We both thought the movie had a lot of gaps and didn't really give much background especially for people who aren't history buffs or at least remember some stuff from their high school history class.
I was considering it because I love WWII history, but I wasn't sure how gory it is and I can't do gore...DH watched it last weekend and he says I can handle it, so I'll wait for it to come out on video I guess? My problem is that we don't get a lot of stuff on our Netflix, so I worry I won't be able to see it.

The 10 oz. Honey-Chipotle Shrimp and Sirloin...!!!!!!! :hungry: :hungry: :hungry:
Everything on the plate was absolutely delicious, and I scarfed down every last bit...!!!!! :)

YUM!!!

Oh, I bought a "cowboy" steak at the butcher shop today. :hungry: Prices are insane there, but man, they have some awesome cuts of beef. We've having it tonight--I'm grilling it. Feeds all three of us--most of it goes to hubs, and I have maybe 1/3 of it. Then the bone goes to Jack!

DS saw it with a buddy a few days ago and said they liked it. Being the WWII buff that I am, I'm very familiar with that bit of it's history.
That all being said, I'm not sure I'll see this one in the theater.
The last war movie I saw in the theater was American Sniper, and, before that, Saving Private Ryan. Those were both very good.
Off the top of my head, another one I really liked, but, only ever saw on TV, was Enemy at the Gates.
Too many others over the years to name.
Did you ever see A Bridge Too Far? It's a WWII movie about Operation Market Garden. They were trying to trap the Germans by removing bridges I think? They went to the wrong bridge and there was a massive battle on the John Frost bridge (It was called something different then, but today everyone calls it the John Frost bridge) in Arnhem. I lived in Arnhem the first 3 years I was over here, so I've seen all the sites and have been to the museum, etc.

@Cesar R M and @MOXOMUMD I'm not sure if any in your circles are interested but Joann's has a full line of cosplay fabric.
This reminds me...how hard is it to make the Minnie ears you did last year for your trip? DD really wanted this set of ears, but they were $27 and she did not want to spend so much on something she would only wear at Disney. Since we are going to DLP in October, I'd like to make some for her, similar to the ones she liked, but I don't know how hard it will be or how to do it.

Not very at all. Make sure the headband is comfortable, use foam board not cardboard inside the ears and sew the ears shut by machine or by hand(I could tell the difference in the glued all the way ones), youtube is your friend for basic instructions and most of all have fun making and wearing them:joyfull:. The nice thing about DIY ears is you decide how big to make the ears and how to decorate them, I'm sure some of you have seen them before and I know you saw the one of them LOL100_4074.JPG 100_4073.JPG100_4078.JPG

It really wasn't gory. Not a lot of blood, even with the death.

I'm 80% certain Jasmine stole my glasses. I left them on my nightstand, and I haven't seen them since. I've torn apart my room with no luck and looked all over the house. I'm sure they're somewhere around here, but I've no idea where.

I'm borrowing my brother's glasses since we wear the same prescription and he doesn't need them since he's not in school. That will hold me until I can get new ones. :greedy::banghead:

Granted, pets latch on to some of the strangest things, but considering how little Jasmine is, I think it's a bit of a stretch to think that she took your eyeglasses. I'm sure you already did this, but did you check through all of the bedding? Many times I've lost stuff --eyeglasses, remote controls, etc., and they've ended up in the folds of blankets, comforter, etc. Or, they've fallen to the floor and might be under the bed.

I hope you find your eyeglasses soon!

Youtube tutorials...duh. Why didn't I think of that? I have a friend who makes costuming for cons and such, like bustles and corsets, etc, so I asked her if she could make some Minnie Ears...figured I'd give her some business, but she says it's out of her expertise...ok...then I will try to make them myself. Off to etsy to find material!!

My thing is accidentally knocking the remote control into the garbage can next to the couch without realizing it. Then the search ensues and I go looking everywhere until I think to look in the garbage can.

Please would you and @MinnieM123 please stop blaming innocent family members when something happens. I keep a spare pair for just such an emergency.
