Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Details are not confirmed as of yet, but it looks like my father will have to fly back Wednesday, go to the funeral, scheduled for Thursday, and rejoin us on Thursday night or Friday. My stepgrandmother was very understanding about the rest of us staying down here. I just feel bad for my dad having to go home and come back. The only good thing is that my aunt from SC was up, so she's just staying a few extra days.

And that is a lot of miles in a few days. Wooba. How is he doing?

I swear the man is part Vulcan. He's not really getting emotional, although he did get a bit unfair with me this morning. I told him I had told my best friend about it, and he told me I was being a "gossip". I told him no, I reached out to my best friend for additional support because my grandfather had died, and that was not gossiping. He didn't say another word. I chalked it up to emotion and let it go after that.

I'm curious, what do they do at Hunger Games camp? Physical challenges? Is it an overnight? And if I was able to get a $54 flight I'd b all over that puppy! What's the catch? $300 to fly back?
Yesterday, they were split into districts. 2 per district, and there is only 8 kids. My DD is upset because she is the only girl paired with a boy, and he is also the only one who hasn't read the books. But, they made posters while watching some of HG part 2. She was too busy to tell me much more than that. At some point, they are supposed to have a chance to try out archery. It is just for one week in the afternoon. Perfect for just a "fun" camp. Every day will be something different, so I'll let you know what they did today, later.

And the catch is it is August in Florida, and no one knows what to do with the whole zika thing. School starts in the 'burbs soon, although some have started already. Southwest out of Midway. 54 there on the 16th, and if you stay a week, 54 on the 23rd. If you need to come back on the weekend, 89 for Saturday. Can't remember the last time I have seen prices this low.

Wow, that does sound like fun. I would have been mad to if I was the only girl paired with the only boy. I like boys and everything, but mostly to make fun of at least at the moment. I imagine that will change soon as i look the way my sister is who is 16 years old. :)

Yes, but will it fit in the car's cupholder? o_O ;)

*Spits Coffee* I'm amazed at how witty you can be that early in the morning. And yes of course it will fit in your car's cup holder.

I'm thinking still it is is either a problem with the mold for the handle portion or packing and shipping cost cut. It isn't going to cut costs though as they found out quickly. Disney has now, readily available paper holders for the point I made when this all started, how do you carry multiple mugs? I'd still rather have the handle.

If disney cared at all about Guests being able to use their mugs in a car manufactures years ago solved that problem.
Zazzle's Mugs that many companies and foundations now use those cause that fit in most car cup holders. Really, I don't think Disney cares but they should...not for us but for the free marketing. The more people that see those Disney Parks mugs the more free advertising they receive.

Just on briefly to let everyone know that I have arrived home in one piece and except for a bit of car trouble on Sunday it went off without any hitches. The car trouble cost me a day, but, heck, I had nothing else to do anyway. And I do so love to spend money on my car. (where is the sarcasm smiley when you need it.)

Anyway I thought I would put in the only two pictures that I took on the whole trip and that was from a Golf course on Saturday. However, that is pretty representative of Vermont no matter what direction you look in.

Oh Dear. That's rough. As you very well know there is so much stress that comes with all this and then when you add in family dynamics with drama into it I'm sure he is has all sorts of stuff clogging his brain and sometimes bystanders are the collateral damage. I have this problem with my Sis too, the two of them are master litigators so they are quick and powerful with their responses. I swear attorney's need to win even when it isn't about winning. My Mom well she is just to that age where whatever comes to mind just comes out of her mouth and usually in a snarky tone. She has lost that filter.

When my Dad passed he was estranged from him family for decades. I was the only one that had seen that side of the family and that was for my Aunt (inlaw) wake/funeral. When I told my Sis and Mom I'd make the call to my Cousin in Atlanta. Wicked comments about why I would do that, Dad wouldn't have wanted that and finally when I stood my ground my Sis asked if what I was going to now befriend them and be best buds...and more......I kinda surprised myself and said it is the decent thing to do, nobody should find out that their brother/uncle passed from an Obit in the newspaper. I took the high road and made the call and asked my cousin to tell the rest of his family. I chalked that all up to stress but jeepers sometimes I wonder about the things come out of people's mouths and how their mind works to craft distasteful words. I'm fine with disagreeing but there are boundaries. It is odd what stress does in the moment.
