A bit perplexing, actually...
Never even saw the doc. Saw her NP and PA instead. The PA seemed very unsure 'cause of all the different locations the pain and swelling is. She ruled out infection 'cause there was no heat at the sites, and I'm not running a fever. She sent me off with some anti inflammatory samples, and then down the road to a lab for a blood draw to check uric acid levels.
A bit disappointing... :bored:
Anyway, the lab results may not be back before the weekend, but, she said she would call tomorrow regardless to see how I was doing with the anti inflammatory.
I was 5th in line at the lab, and by the time they got to me I was in a lot more pain.
I'm much better now that I'm at home with my legs up in bed. :)

Thanks for asking...! :)
I'm so so sorry for your pain. I hope that you can get some rest tonight. I remembered one more thing someone that has gout can't have and that's oatmeal. I know it's supposed to be healthy but not for gout patients. I hope you can get a positive outlook. Rest and be well, you have been a great friend!:inlove::inlove::inlove:

I hope they find the cause of this. Hubby only had gout in his big toe. Please, take care of yourself, and you need a jammie, weekend!

OK, I just chatted with DVC and my presumption was correct in that I need to cancel my current reservation and then I have to wait until 60 days prior to my potential travel dates to see what's available. And looking at what's available 60 days from now, hopefully Saratoga will still have availability, if OKW doesn't. I guess I might as well start booking ADRs just in case. Hopefully I'll be able to get flights at 60 days!

@donaldtoo , I'm hoping that your foot feels better soon. Any family history of gout, or RA (rheumatoid arthritis)? When you said it affected more than one spot on your foot, that got me to thinking about RA-type symptoms (also, sometimes gout and RA can even overlap. although that's less common). I can understand your frustration with the medical team, as you felt gyped that you didn't get to see an MD. That's becoming more the norm these days with skyrocketing medical expenses, although some of the NPs and PAs can also be quite good.

You can always insist on an MD if you feel you're not getting the appropriate treatment. (Now you may have to wait longer, or book out in the future, to see an MD, but it's an option.) Remember, you're a patient and also a paying customer. You and your insurance company are shelling out big bucks for your care, so (within reason), if you weren't thrilled with the first tier of medical clinicians, insist on seeing an MD. It does sound like they ran the usual tests for gout, etc., so the results from those tests will certainly be helpful, no matter what.

I also thought of RA due to the same reason you pointed out. Hopefully it's not that, though!

Their flight was full. I'm flying out about three hours before them. My suitcase will go with them, and I will just hang out at the airport until they get there. I'll take my carry-on with a spare set of clothes just in case. And then I go shopping in the airport. :D just kiddin'
get to a premium airport lounge , get a full body massage and Spa.. and charge your parents lol XD
