Last night we had snow, then slush snow and then more snow. I cleaned up the first two rounds but by the time the 3rd round came I was in my Jammies and had enough.

This morning I get a call from my DD. She can't get either door of her car open. I pick her up, take her to work and will go back and fetch her in a couple of hours. After I dropped her I went to her apartment with a snow brush and cleaned the top layer off and then could see the slush had sealed the crack completely between the car door and body frame. The wipers were even worse. For 30 or so minutes I lightly chiseled away with my plastic scraper and finally got the door to unseal but not open. I hit the door with my hip to close hard and then it opened. Boo-ya!!! Turned the car on, both defrosters on high. Started on passenger door eventually getting it open and one of the two rear doors. No such luck with trunk or door number 4. I went up to her apartment to thaw out and watched her running car from her desk, didn't close the door just close since it was still running, that is all I'd need. Went back down in 20 minutes got wipers really going and scraped all the windows and cleaned off the car. Till she got her apartment her car always lived in the garage with mine.
So freak'n cold.

I still am cold and keep pushing up the thermostat. Currently it is 8 degrees. FLORIDA FLORIDA FLORIDA

hah! not at all, I'm extremely fragile myself XD

Im lucky I didnt get a cold.
I usually get a cold or stomatch issues right before or after the trip (stress mid planning mostly, and after the trip.. because of tiredness)

But I'm ok right now, just tired and sleepy
I hope you got a good night's sleep. We always take at least 4 days after a vacation to unwind, grab groceries and do NOTHING! Except me I get back on the exercise wagon the day after we pull into our driveway. Well that and get my nails done

So I am currently in the market to replace all the furniture and appliances that Mr. Donkey is taking with him. I've figured out most of what I want, but need to do research on the refrigerator and washer/dryer. Is GE still a good brand? When I look on the Sears website, they still get lots of positive reviews.
For what it's worth I've always had good luck with Kenmore fridges. My washer is a Bosch and I love it. My dryer is a Kenmore it is somewhere in age between my 2 boys.

go figure.. I also bought a Stitch shirt while at WDW. I found one model that never seen anywhere else (It was being sold inside the circus tent area, near the dueling dumbos) It was a Stitch shirt with many faces (cool face, hungry face, bossy face, nerdy face, crazy crazy, gamer)
love it so much.
But they had no adult size! the kids XXL size barely fits me lol.
THNX for the info I'm going to look for it.

All I can say is here I am almost 68 years old, overweight and I just finished walking all over Europe. Believe me, it made any time I have spent at WDW seem like a casual stroll. No blisters, no muscle pain. I did at one point tell my sister that this experience was either going to fix whatever problem I have with my leg or make me a cripple. So far... all is good.

BTW, my eye problem has seemed to resolve and I am done with this experience, at least for now. If I get any type of positive news about the cancer thing, I will be scheduling the other eye as soon as possible. I didn't think it would ever clear up, but, it has and I can see well now and don't need glasses for anything other then reading and even that has improved.

@Goofyernmost , that is excellent news about your eye. Initially, many people who have that procedure tend to panic during the first week post-op. But it does get better and better; and everyone I know who has had that procedure was very happy with the results, in due course. I'm glad you're feeling better overall.

I'm afraid to have the eye procedure done.

1) I would hate seeing what the doctors are doing

2) Slim chance you can go blind

I hate carry my glass case to theme park. Taking them off, putting them in the case then putting it back on again. Same thing at the gym. I can't workout with glasses on so my eyes can see but everything afar is blurry.

View attachment 125875 @betty rose I can't find the post about the blue dishes but these are the ones my grandparents had. My mom still has many pieces in her china cabinet. When I first had dinner at my best friend's house many years ago they had the SAME dishes. :joyfull:
Currier and Ives...my mom had a bunch. My brother begged for them when she passed because he said he liked to have dinner parties but didn't have any nice dishes and I had gotten a set of nice dishes from my aunt when I got married. So I agreed even though I really wanted them myself, and the next week when I went to the flea market I found all the Crystal, silver, and currier and Ives dishes, along with my mom's antique Singer sewing machine there. He just wanted the money and knew I'd never agree if I knew he was going to sell it. Breaks my heart because those were the dishes we used my whole childhood for ever special occassion.

Our old car had a manucfacturer's issue that made the doors freeze and you couldn't open them from the inside, only from the outside. I had to crawl out of the window one time because that time it wouldn't even open from the outside like usual. Pain in the patootie..every winter!

Same here! I'm lucky I only need reading glasses and have only had one minor change in prescription since the age of 10. But I do hate carrying them around!
