it's going to be in the 60s here today, it's already way into the 40s and going up. Tomorrow will bring in cold for a week but still nothing like last year. I'm trying not to complain about the cold coming in.

60's seem like heaven this week! Last week in California it seemed really cold. Now that I'm back in Wisconsin I am reminded of what cold is....woke up to -11 today with a real feel temperature of -27. My doggie did her business really fast outside this morning!

Just finished watching "Live Free or Die Hard" with Bruce Willis and Justin Long. Crazy flick.
Anyway, a few years ago, oldest DD and SIL unexpectedly ran across Justin Long in a bar on 6th street here in Austin. DD recognized him, and started a conversation. He bought them all drinks and she said he was a very cool guy.
Just one of those crazy little happenstances in life...! :)

Here's a 1984 photo of Tokyo Disney Resort with actual snow. It appears Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris are the only Disney Parks to get real snow.

But in California, anything property obtained after the date of separation is considered separate property, not community. He can try, but he won't succeed! At least that's my understanding.
I recently found out that if a non-custodial parent is behind in their child support and wins decent lottery money, the government will take the deliquent money out of the winnings and give it to the custodial parent.

I'm like a roller coaster. After my trip, in spite of a 14 day cruise I was down 5 pounds. I got them all back during the Christmas season. But, I am thankful because it could have been a whole lot worse then that.
I lost on my last cruise too. I think it was all the stuff to do and walking around the track. I always gain between the holidays, but never this much!

But what's the definition of "Separated"? Is it the day you decided to divorce? Is it the date the papers are filed? Is it the day he moved out? Do you have to file for separation? If you won, and he suddenly said "I want to get back together, we were never separated!" or lies about the date...I mean, the chance of winning is almost nil anyway, so it's kind of a moot point, but there are probably loopholes galore.
So true. In Ohio the court only recognizes "separation" beginning on the day one spouse moves out of the marital home and you have to be not living together for a year. If you aren't "together" but live in the same house you aren't considered "separated" and the lottery winnings would be considered income.
