Oh my, yes. Many, many times over the years.
The main reasons I've never seriously pursued it are cost and time involved.
Plus, I have a heart condition called supraventricular tachycardia. In an instant, and out of nowhere, my heart rate can jump to well above 200 bpm. I've been in the ER twice when it was at 215 bpm and 230 bpm.
Had the first episode in my early 30's. I had no clue what the heck was going on. In the ER, they had to administer through IV an antiarrythmic called adenosine to knock my heart rate back down. Craziest darn feeling...it basically flatlines you for a few seconds so that the heart can then resume a normal rhythm.
They told me it would get worse over time and that I would eventually need heart ablation surgery to correct it.
After that, I started carrying around a prescription med called verapamil to take in case of an event. It has kept me from ER visits a few times.
Crazy thing is, despite what the docs said, the frequency of these events has actually substantially lessened over time. The last time I had an event (knock on wood - my head ;)) was about 8 years ago. And, although I've never lost consciousness during an event, the lightheadedness and a straining feeling on the body is quite unnerving.
Anyway, if I ever see myself getting close to having the money or time to go for a pilots license, the first thing I'll do is research the heart condition thing.
I still have dreams about flying all the time.
It would be about the coolest thing in the world if I could someday get a pilots license...! :)

ETA: thrill rides and such have all been doc approved. Apparently, that stuff has no bearing on the condition...! :)
My X-wife had that. I can't tell you how many times we ended up in the ER. Many of them in Kissimmee! They finally discovered an additional nodule on her heart that was occasionally sending electrical signals for the heart to beat causing it to mesh with the legitimate nodules and thus elevating her heart rate. Her last episode involved her passing out at work.

She had surgery which involved running something into her artery cutting the nodule off her heart. It required no hospital time so we went in in the morning and left before lunch. She never had the problem again after that.

One of my BFFs from young Dad was in a retirement home, he had alzheimer's and started wandering the neighborhood especially in the middle of the night. He had a beautiful rich voice and sang in a very deep powerful voice. He believed he worked there and was the choir director. He actually had a following of folk that came and sang with him as he played the piano. For a while. Then he had somewhat of a career change in the retirement home. He became the resident Stripper. Seriously. He was expelled.
:hilarious: My ex-grandpa-in-law (in his 80s) was a ladies man at his nursing home. Many mornings he was found to be asleep in a different female's room. Our joke with him was he knew nothing worked anymore but he was still trying. ;)

If the movie was made back in the 70s, I think Marcia Wallace would have been a good candidate to play her. :)

Wallace would have done a perfect job.

and they are not built like the older ones anymore.
I swear I have gone to like 30 stores.. and noone has a comfy pillow like my old18 year old one.
the new ones are either too hard (rock solid) too hot (plastic memory foam), or too soft (nailon or other compressed shredded stuff)
That sounds like the Three Bears pillow shopping but they can't find the "just right" one.

I'm thinking either late June, since school gets out June 23, or mid-August. I'll be sure to let you know once I figure it out! :)

True, it is mostly great that he's moving out. It was supposed to be this weekend, but he pushed it back until the following week. :grumpy:

Yeah, keep us posted. We bought our flights last night and booked the All Star Music and the Caribbean today (one of the good things that happened today). Since we are going for 2 weeks we picked the Music to save money and the Caribbean because we stayed there on our honeymoon, and we will be there during our 11th anniversary.

That's my take, too. But we can request a vocational evaluation, which he'll refuse, but I don't think he'll have a choice. If it determines that he can make more doing something else, then the court will impute income so I won't have to pay more support, even if he chooses not to get a job.
They did that to my ex. Because of his upper management position and the specialized work he does the court went for the max and he'll never pay less for the next eight years.

So I have had quite a day of some ups and downs...and I have to share because I'm still a little freaked out about the downs. So sorry if it is a little long. The day started with a phone call from school we had a two hour delay because of icy roads. This was a good thing for me, it meant getting a little extra sleep and getting some stuff done around the house. As I live only 2 blocks from the school I teach at I didn't have to worry about icy roads.

Once I get to school the kids are all crazy because it is Friday and we had the 2 hour delay. I was a little late getting into my classroom to start as I was chatting with our librarian in the hallway and I noticed our principal with one of our students at the students locker which was right across from the doorway of my classroom. I thought it was strange if this student was already in trouble as it was at the start of the day. About 45 minutes later in between the next two classes another teacher told me she saw that student being taken out of school with the police. Anyway, soon after that we found out that the student had brought a loaded gun to school. And turns out it wasn't the first time, he showed the gun to his friends and his friends did the right thing and told our principal. It is just really scary to think that a middle schooler would bring a gun to school and it was loaded (and cocked). If you don't remember I teach in a very rural district and we all have the feeling that something like a shooting would never happen here. Luckily the student didn't use the gun and it didn't go off accidentally. But it is still sickening to think of what could have happened. Hopefully that is the only brush I or anyone I know have with that situation.

So when I came home from school we booked our summer Disney trip, as I needed some joy and magic to hold on to today. :(

Yikes I'm glad nothing happened! But I guess none of us can think anymore that it can't happen where we are unfortunately. Very sad indeed. That's why I think a lot of us love Disney so much because it allows us to forget about a lot of the terrible stuff in the world. At least for me it does.

Sister had a convertible an Oldsmobile, sure was fun to go to the drive in and watch under the stars. Too bad drive ins didn't last. You are so right, great memories. I especially loved the refreshment stand commercials!
We still have a drive-in about five miles from me. $12 per carload and that's for TWO feature films, the same movies in theaters. Sometimes we load into my sister's van and when we basically are paying $2 a person. We pack a cooler and some camp chairs so when the kids fall asleep during the second movie we sit outside.

That's why I broke off my engagement with my previous boyfriend. I couldn't even hang out with my brother, or with my choir friends...even the girls, because he was afraid they would say bad things about him and try to break us up. He didn't want me to get on the computer where guys might not know I had a boyfriend and they might flirt with me. He didn't want me to do certain activities that he viewed as "our thing" with anyone else, like I watched "Ever After" with some friends and he completely freaked on me because he had wanted to watch it WITH me, and it wasn't good enough that I would watch it again. He didn't want me to have watched it with anyone else and it was ruined for him because I had already seen it. I could see I'd never be allowed to have a life if I stayed with him and then he started showing signs of becoming physical...throwing things across the room..not at me, but it's a short step from throwing it against a wall to throwing it at me or throwing ME against a wall. Possessiveness and Jealousy are abusive behaviors, so I left.
wow,thats awful!
