Yep. It worked again last night. Amen. I felt like did when my kids were newborn for few days there. I don't do well on little sleep.
I need my sleep too. And broken sleep is the worst. I've been doing that for over a month now. I think it's the holidays, and all the cooking that needs to be done, along with cards and wrapping gifts. I expect to be back to "normal" after the holidays:happy:

That's sad that your sister says those things. I wish you had a nicer sister, just like yourself.
Thanks @MinnieM123. I went to therapy in college. I got a lot out of it. Sister wouldn't think of doing that. I remember when Mom would say to me, that's just your sister, as though that explained her behavior. Dad said he wished sis would treat me nicer. I'm very good today, and since I made the decision to talk to her only when she calls, she doesn't impact me as much as she did.:joyfull:

I understood, but, I wasn't quoting you I was quoting Donaldtoo. I did get all the references as a joke, but, I wanted to make it clear that we cannot eliminate all our options and head back to the dark ages for the sake stopping the use of what god gave us to use on this planet to sustain our lives. We seem to forget that part many times. Everything, the trees, animals, the soil, the water all were put there to sustain us one way or another and in some cases they have multiple uses for that purpose. We need to use it wisely, but, wisely does not always translate to just stop using everything.
I'm sorry, I misunderstood. :oops::happy:

Day 5 & 6 of the Adventure.... October 24 & 25

Getting up at the crack of dawn, Saturday Morning, we traversed the path back to the Opera House, loaded with our baggage once again and caught the shuttle back to the airport. We caught a ValueJet flight to Venice. It was amazing to me how well thought out all the transportation in Europe is. The airport was along the canal of Venice and all it took was a minor walk from the terminal to the water taxi's to bring us to the center of Venice. We found our hotel easily and quickly settled in. We went for a walk to get ourselves acclimated to the area and (and I know I will catch some grief for this as well) had dinner at Hard Rock just a short distance from the hotel. During our two day stay we ate mostly at sidewalk and local dining establishment consuming the legally required amount of pasta and pizza. We went to St. Marks Square which was extremely crowded on Sunday. It was crowded because, of all days to be there, Sunday they held a local Marathon run. I'm not sure how that worked out, but, I suspect that running on the road would be fairly wet and probably slow one up.

I remember Venice from my previous trip in the late 60's and remember how tranqual it was there. I also notice, to their credit, that the canals were much, much cleaner then they were back then.

Sunday night we went to a concert that featured a string quartet and solo Oboist. It was held in an old church that was probably hundreds of years old (can't remember the name of it). The acoustics in the old building were fabulous and quite a change from the entertainment that I have become accustomed to as a bonafide red neck. After the concert we found a very nice and quaint little Restaurant and once again loaded up on pasta. It was delicious. We only had about a day and a half in Venice, but, we spent a lot of time just wondering around the narrow alleys that make up the "dry" streets of Venice. Still one of my favorite places.

And one more to show that it isn't only McDonald's that is everywhere. I give you....

:cautious: *fends off urge to pinch someone really hard*

This is the most snowfall we have had to this point of the year in 37 years. :banghead: Farmers Almanac says it will be a low snow fall year with warmer than normal temperatures. o_O Hoping they are right and soon. The windchill was 21 as I walked back home from my DDs. :coldfeet:
Damp and cold, the worst possible combination. If it weren't for cocoa I wouldn't make it through the winter!:joyfull:

I think you might be on to something! The last week knocked the heck out of me and now it's Christmas prep and today is hot glue gun day:eek: I have to make 2 dozen ornaments by Friday. The sewing part was done by hand:eek::arghh::bawling::banghead:
