We have leftovers yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tonight is good old turkey sandwiches. Tomorrow BBQ. Sunday turkey stew. I lucked out with the nice weather some of the 20 something cousins didn't show as they went to the parade in the city and then out with their friends. Needless to say their parents weren't happy. I'm freezing some of the extras to play around with later. The only veggie that's left is salad LOL so it looks like I may have to cook later. Who knew brussels sprouts would be popular Everybody had a bit of meat but the sides really went this year as did the gravy from the smoked turkey.

Mmmmm....brussels sprouts. Slurp!

Wow. That was some interesting trivia. I was very surprised to hear that some of the Dutch people don't even have ovens, but do all their cooking on the range top. I wonder if they're the only country that does that. I thought every country cooked with some form of oven. That was quite the effort on your part to figure out how to cook the turkey! You get extra points for that effort!!!

Thanks! Yeah, I don't do that anymore...trying to FIND a turkey, and then trying to find one that fits in the dish, etc. Just too much hassle for just us. And with DS's birthday next week, I have enough to do!! But yes, Dutch people don't bake for the most part. They buy bread from the bakery and for birthdays, they order pastries from the bakery as well. It's sad to me, since I bake so much. And I couldn't find a decent sized oven here. The outside is 2 feet wide, so smaller on the inside. My cookie sheets from the US don't fit in it.

Fantastic!! I wish I could have been there! And I want to try corndog nuggets! I love corndogs. My kids have never had them since they don't have them over here, but DD is super excited to try one.

I'm really not a fan of corn dogs it I recently are one or two at Disneyland because I heard they were amazing and....,they were! The MK ones were good but nowhere close to disneylands.

Sorry...I'd pass on the cheese curds as well. I don't like cheese. I'm fine if it's mozzarella on pizza, and I like nacho cheese, but other than that. I'm not a fan.

Missed U of I ushering in Santa??? Sacrilege.

DW and I rode our horses in the parade a few years ago, they came off of a commercial break with a close-up of the two of us and they zoomed back to show the whole group we were with. I still have a screen grab of the close up to remind us of back when we were moving stars. It was an interesting parade route. We rode over the subway, so the horses got a little freaked everytime a train went by underneath us. Not to mention the painted crosswalk and stop lines in the pavement and the horse eating manhole covers. The worst of it was when we got in front of the main viewing area where they had painted the turkey on the pavement - a lot of horses were going absolutely nuts and spinning around. Ours were behaving really well and we were really happy that we weren't involved in the rodeo activities that were surrounding us - I guess that's why they zoomed in on us...

(O.k. Idiot disclaimer here . . . how does a Fitbit help someone to lose weight? I thought those things just tracked running mileage. Do they do more than that?)

I thinks it is more of a sub-conscience prodding more than anything. It tracks steps, miles, flights of stairs, calories burned, and sleep patterns. It syncs to a smart phone or computer to give day to day comparisons and you can track food and water intake if you really want to go all in. You can also set up a network with your friends where you can see your exercise ranking against how they are doing. I have three total and I'm in last place... Desk work will do that to you, but my weekends are stellar!

When I travel through the Carolinas, I always love when they say "All y'all". I have taken to saying it myself.

I remember when we first moved to No Cal when I was a kiddo, we got teased a bit over "Y'all", then a bunch of our friends picked it up as well...!

We are doing that right now, so the kids won't have too. We are downsizing to keep only essentials, it makes life less cluttered and complicated. We haven't moved for years, so things are overtaking me. Hubby likes "things", me not so much, I don't like to have so much to dust!

Yep, pop is a bit of a "collector".
Mom, not so much. Not in the house, but, pop has 3 sheds, half of a 2-car garage, and an attic filled with stuff.
Even he is startin' to realize it's time to downsize though.

So it snowed today, and it stuck. Less than an inch though. This was taken through the front window, it was actually still snowing pretty hard at the time but it doesn't really look like it.

We are getting lots and lots of rain today, still raining hard. I'm not amused but I will take it over snow especially on Thanksgiving since we travel to my folks.

I wonder who sent the rain.. its 4th day in arow here with constant rains.

yes, I'm not a fan..

infact, I hate most of the "fresh" cheeses... specially ones like Queso Panela.

Ok you may not like it then. Personally, I'm not a huge fry person so I rarely bother with poutine but it is tasty. The cheese and gravy are my favourite parts.
