Yep, meetin' Marty Sklar would be somethin' else! :)

Wouldn't it though??!! :inlove: :inlove: Of course, if I were to meet him, I'd probably stumble over my words, trying to say something that sounded intelligent and welcoming. (I'd fail . . . )

Reminds me a little of an old Rogers and Hammerstein's TV version of Cinderella (Lesley Ann Warren played Cinderella). I always thought it was funny when the wicked stepmother was trying to "coach" her two ugly daughters about how to catch the eye of the Prince, in the castle ball. She said (something to the effect of) , "Now tell me, what fascinating opening line have you prepared for the Prince?" And of course, the daughter would say something lame like, "Lovely weather we've having, Your Highness." And the disgusted wicked stepmother would storm off saying, "Work on it!!!"

I'd probably blither out something about the weather, too. I get shell shocked in front of celebrities . . .

A glass?!?! In my house we call that an appetizer.
;)
In all seriousness, have a great time.

We're going to an event this Friday night at the Long Island Aquarium called Fish and Sips where they have like 20 or more wineries with booths. They give you a glass at the door and you sip all night. So, I guess on Friday I'm just having "a glass" of wine too.
:)

Remember, no swimming in the fish tanks when you've been drinking. ;)

Yeah it's so much fun. They do a package with a hotel right next door so there is no driving. It's from 7 to 10:30 and right around 10 you start hearing people dropping their wine glasses all over the place. Amateurs.
:)

I hope this is a really good aquarium. Some are better than others. I enjoy watching different species swim around; it's fascinating that so many of them swim together, yet they don't bump into one another. How in heck they pull that one off, I could never figure out!!

So I had some great news this afternoon. My jury duty is cancelled!!!! YEE--HAAAAAAAAAAA!!! (In MA, if it's cancelled, they can't call you back for another year.) :)

Yay! That's interesting, though - I've never had jury duty cancelled. Usually you either don't get called in or once you're called in, you don't make it to a jury and then you're done.

Different in every state, but in MA, if you do have to show up on your appointed date, that is considered having served (regardless of whether or not you get put on a jury, or get sent home). As long as you show up, they can't call you back for 3 years. However, in my case, where the courts cancelled all jurors for tomorrow, they still consider it fulfilling your obligation, even though you don't have to come in. BUT, they only let you off the hook for a year in my (cancelled) situation, versus 3 years in the other actual "served" scenario.

Ah, in California they can call you every year, even though technically it's supposed to be "random". :bored:

Random, yah sure . . . it's just too much of a coincidence that they often call the exact same people like clockwork . . . every few years. This is the third time I've been called, and yet, hubby has never once been called. I've known a number of people through the years who had said the exact same thing.
