I cannot speak for you... but, for me... I got a lot a splainin to do!
I had a Brother of Christian Instruction that taught a religion class. He was asked by one of us, sadly not me, but, it could have been, what if he was wrong? This Brother was 80 something years old and his reply was "If I'm wrong then I wasted a lifetime. If I went the other way I would have wasted an eternity." Made sense at the time. He was also famous for his description of eternity to go with that statement. "Picture a huge granite stone the size of the earth. Now every hundred years a small bird would fly over it and brush his wing gently against it. When that granite stone was worn away, that was the end of eternity. Scary stuff for a kid.
