My first new car was a 1970 Buick Skylark, 350, 2 barrel. Loved that car. I kept it until I started to feel that it was not dependable enough to keep. I had it when I met my wife, used it on our honeymoon, took her the the hospital to have our first baby and again to have our second. But, we lived far enough away from the hospitals and had two small children, one an infant and I just stopped trusting it to work for me like I needed it too. When I think back on it. It was amazing how little those cars had for extras. Just AM radio, crank windows, bench seats, no AC, no tinted glass. Almost barren of everything that I now expect to be standard on all cars. Still loved it and managed to take a car that at the time had an expected life span of about 75K miles and ran it 125K. Still hated to see it go.

I hear that. DWifey actually volunteered to take some pics of me with "Bessy" the day I sold her. What a great car, and so many memories. She had 167,000+ miles on her when I sold her.
Although, she was long gone before we ever started our family. All our kiddos came home in our '90 Jeep Cherokee Laredo.
Other great memories...! :)

My first car was a VW bug like this one. I loved zipping along in it, plus so easy to maintain!

I just watched it on Youtube. I stopped watching SNL years ago when it stopped being funny.

I know. I soooo miss the original cast - they were brilliant! Land Shark, Samurai, Weekend Update ("Jane, you ignorant "), Roseanne Roseannadanna, nothing can top those characters. One of my favorite sketches was Consumer Probe with the Bag O'Glass toy. :D

Whoops, should've known s.l.u.t. would be censored! LOL

Oh my. I hope you took some pics to post...!
The Arizona Memorial is DEFINITELY on my bucket list.
My mom and I did, but they are all on her camera, so I will have to get them off later.

I enjoyed it very much. I find that historical event fascinating. I think it's because my junior year of high school, I had a really great history teacher that I loved, and he spent over a week on Pearl Harbor (it was the 70th anniversary that year, but I think he would have spent that much time on it anyway) and then right after that, I got to come visit Pearl Harbor. And then I wrote a screenplay on Pearl Harbor for screenwriting class my senior year (with that same teacher) so I had to read up and research even more. And I'm STILL learning new things about it. We stopped in the gift shop, and I easily could have taken home every book they had on Pearl Harbor. My mom bought me two (because I couldn't pick). One is a memoir written by a medical officer, and the other is a collection written by different nurses. Looking forward to reading them.

I'm so sad! I brought my two cats over to my mom's and grandmother's condo this morning. My cat Pebbles adjusted with no problem, but my cat Cali hid somewhere and we can't find her! She hasn't come out since! On the car ride to drop Cali off, she cried the entire car trip as if she knew something was up. When I got to the condo, she stayed by the front door and cried and would not move. I moved her to another room and she ran towards a corner and disappeared! I looked everywhere for her. Under all the furniture and haven't been able to find her! I hope she comes out soon! I'm really worried!

I have just one more day here before Ingo overseas for six months!
