O.k. Idiot disclaimer ahead: you've been warned--

I read in a magazine about how you can make frozen yogurt pops. It looked easy enough, so I went to BB & Beyond and bought some (popsicle-style) freezer molds. I then mixed the yogurt, vanilla, honey and 6 oz. of blueberries and 6 oz. of blackberries together. Divided that up into the 6 molds and put in freezer for 8 hours.

Mentioned my frozen treat masterpiece to hubby. He said, "Did you try out the new blender?" ( We had just bought a new Oster blender this past week.) I said, "Huh? What does the blender have to do with my frozen yogurt?" He said, "Oh, I just assumed you'd have blended up the fruit and mixed it into the yogurt."  . . . what??! I was supposed to what??!!) It NEVER dawned on marble head here, that "blend" meant to put the fruit into a blender!!! :jawdrop:

So, 8 hours later, I took out one of frozen treats and the frozen yogurt was tasty and all but the blueberries and blackberries were like these frozen little rocks inside! :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:

:hilarious: ;) :)

Short story... (or at least, I know you hope it will be) Back in 2001 after a series of life changes including divorce and business failure, I started looking for what I could do to make my life better. On a trip to WDW and other places in Florida, I decided that if I could put enough money away over the next 10 to 12 years, I might be able to pull of a dual location existence. Summers in Vermont and winters in Florida. To accomplish that I decided that bus driving would be transferable and fit in seasonally with employment at WDW. Got my license and then took a job driving for a municipal bus company and over the next 10 years went from driver to management, thus allowing me more income to achieve my goals.

Jump forward 10 years, both my daughters, and their families, had moved to North Carolina (separately, I might add) and there I was left to freeze to death, by myself in Vermont. I, with no brains necessary, retired and moved to NC as well. After that move, the need to spend more time in Florida greatly diminished. I was in a warmer climate and close enough to get my Disney fix easily. All of a sudden it became clear, to me at least, that working for Disney was a great deal different then visiting Disney. I took a part time job, for supplemental income, here in NC and my desire to work for the mouse completely disappeared. All that planning, however, was based on driving bus at WDW. I had the skill and also to propensity to BS my way through anything, so I felt it a wonderful opportunity. But as you said, life is dynamic and you never really knows where it will lead us. If one has the courage to respond to where it leads it can sometimes be a really unexpected positive all the way around.

Now, all my immediate family, except my sister, are in North Carolina. It's like we all had the same desire and calling and we all followed it within two years of each other. The funny thing is that I always wanted to move south and they never did. Then, I ended up following them here instead of the other way around. Funny and strange how things work out.

Yep, life is like a box of chocolates... ;)

The other day, I tried to open the hotel room door with my watch thinking it was a MB, so you're in good company.

Hah, I know what you mean! I'm so used to the sensor faucets and toilets at my work, I expect them to be that way everywhere! You wouldn't believe how many times I've waved my hands at a faucet and wondering why no water was coming out.

Due to today's rain my boys are getting the day off from yard work. My garden could use some of the wet stuff and I'm celebrating all my veggie plants are starting to flower except for my leafy greens!:D After another late start things are finally starting to move along here! I'm going to get some early greens picked for dinner, kale and chard should make a good base for salad tonight. I've already got the beans going for baked beans (yum) and hot dogs are going on the grill (yes the "real" ones with meat LOL) and some veggie kabobs. Now to figure out one more side. Potato salad or sweet potato salad? Hmmmm? Here's to a great day for all!

Yum.

Curious. What is Sweet potato salad? :hungry:

HAHAHHA!!! WALTER!!! :hilarious:

Meanwhile, I've never seen "safety pop" lollipops. o_O For eons, lollipops have been in a straight stick. Why would some company want to change that? Those need to be recalled, I say!! :p

Safety Pops were around when I was little. They were the first Lolli's I let my kids have. That stick can be leathal to little kids. But then again my DS choked in the backseat of the car on a lifesaver and my DD choked on Pixie Stick Dust in the Mansions of POR.

I've had skills tested in the Heimlich.

Bonjour! Sounds like everyone had a nice Father's Day! It was hubby's birthday yesterday, so I had to be nice to him all day because of that! The Eiffel Tower was amazing went all the way to the top! And we did the musee d' or say with all the impressionist paintings. Just beautiful! We also went back tithe tower to see it sparkle at night and it was like a little jewell. I have eaten some pastries éclair sand some chocolate paves which are like chocolate croissants but better. My phone still won't let me upload pictures, so you'll just have to wait, sorry! The pictures on my real camera are better anyway! Have a great day gang!
