I might be in the minority here but I don't care for the opening show at MK. It's just not my cup of tea. The fireworks and parade, minus Spectromagic, are my least favorite as well. My kids like them so we watch them but I would choose Fantasmic over them every time. Not because it's better but purely subjective on my part.
I do have a fond memory of DL with the Main Street Electrical parade. I remember standing right next to the American Indian and watching the green dragon go by. A couple of years ago I was at DL and I walked over to the American Indian statue and it just blew my mind that he hadn't changed but I was probably 34 years older. I know he in an inanimate object but the memories he holds. Does that make sense?
I can relate, my grandmother (RIP) on my dad's side was Native American. Blackfoot, and her ancestor's lived in Russia and migrated , after living in Canada, to USA.

You are making my day, I love all the animal friends in the world. A short story, our car broke down, in a lot where they had guard dogs. Of course my husband told me to stay away...I didn't listen to him, they were doggies to me , I walked right up and patted them through the fence. Animals know who loves them...

I think the title is "Domestic Goddess" not unemployed. ;)
I've been the domestic "engineer" in my family for years...painted the house for years, (husband is afraid of height's), outside, took out sod to put in tons of rock, etc. When you come from a farm, you know how to work like a farm animal.:D I have always preferred work outside, than inside. I looked for things to do over the years, to avoid cooking . Now, life has taken a toll on my back. It's inside chores... I would rather be outdoors. Not the same in a big city. I miss my farm life. :(

Thank you for all the kind words everyone. My mother was taken to the hospital because they thought she may have had a stroke, which she didn't it was just stress, but one of my sisters decided to put a claim on stuff in her house. :banghead: Duh, she's fine and coming home, bring everything back! I don't understand people sometimes.

Are you kidding?
Even if (God forbid) she had had a stroke, why would your sister think she could raid your mom's stuff?
Outrageous!

We have had snow on Memorial Day, I hope not this year, I'm looking forward to hubby fixing steaks or burgers on the grill. Just about the only time he "cooks".:D

That's so funny; my father was exactly the same way! He wouldn't even boil an egg on his own in the kitchen (my mother did all the cooking), but all of a sudden when the warmer weather came--he was out in the backyard grilling up dinner! As a kid, I could never figure out how he couldn't cook inside, but could cook outside? o_O :p

First of all, hugs to you and to your mom. I hope she continues to feel better, and I'm glad she didn't have a stroke. (With the stress everyone is under these days, I'm amazed we all don't have a massive group stroke!)

As for your sister putting a "claim" on some of your mother's possessions, while your dear mother was in the hospital, is just beyond my comprehension. That's just COLD-hearted.
