The unfortunate part of Janis Joplin is her voice was so damaged by drugs (and they ultimately killed her at age 27). Personally, can't get passed the voice. There have been other musicians that have had their voices damaged by drug use, but not to the same degree. I didn't realize she was only 27 when she died until I looked it up just now.

Although I prefer classic rock from the 70s in general. Aerosmith, Queen, Alice Cooper, AC/DC, Eagles, etc. :)
I'm not positive of this but her voice was her voice from the beginning. She put all she had into singing and that might have been the bulk of the problem, but, it also was her identity. Just as Joe Cocker, Rod Stewart, Lewis Armstrong and others. They had unique sounding voices, but, they were in true tune which doesn't happen if the vocal cords are damaged by drugs.

And a balcony to go with it too.

I think rope drop can work for many people, especially those who have limited time (days) at WDW. At least if they get there early, they can usually get two of the premium rides within a fairly reasonable time. Then they can go on to other attractions, thereby maximizing their time.

Also, it's also a bit cooler the earlier you go. I know that for me, midday to mid-afternoon is brutal in the heat and humidity, and I leave the parks at that time for cooler indoor activities. Then I return late afternoon.

We love rope drop...!!! :joyfull: ;) :)

Sadly, I always seem to miss ropedrops :(
I wanted to see the show in the front.
I might be in the minority here but I don't care for the opening show at MK. It's just not my cup of tea. The fireworks and parade, minus Spectromagic, are my least favorite as well. My kids like them so we watch them but I would choose Fantasmic over them every time. Not because it's better but purely subjective on my part.
I do have a fond memory of DL with the Main Street Electrical parade. I remember standing right next to the American Indian and watching the green dragon go by. A couple of years ago I was at DL and I walked over to the American Indian statue and it just blew my mind that he hadn't changed but I was probably 34 years older. I know he in an inanimate object but the memories he holds. Does that make sense?

Yep, between '69 and '71, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison all died at age 27.

ok guys! We've got 2 options for our next trip. Choice1 go June 20 something and be there through fourth of July or Choice 2 August1-18 give or take a few days. I'm thinking choice2 and it will be a smidge cheaper. What do you think? THNX
I would choice one because I would like to be there for the 4th even though it's super crowded. You could always hang by the pool, at least you are at Disney. Plus, isn't August usually hotter?
