Ugh. Tornado on the ground in my county, looks to be heading this way. Already has to hide in the closet this morning with my kid when tornado sirens went off.

Oh dear, please be careful. That's not good news--I hope it bypasses you.

Edit: I just read your comments from a few minutes ago, and very happy to hear that it all bypassed you. It must have been scary though.

Wasn't hard to tell that today is Mothers Day. I went to the mall to do my "walking" and the place was packed with Dad's and about a gazillion kids. No Mom's in sight. I suspect that they were all on a "get out of mom's hair" mission. One of the most interesting things I saw was an entire family of perhaps 20 people, all nicely dressed, not formal but nice casual, came into the Food Court for what looked like a massive Mother's Day dinner. From my quick count it looked like there were about a total of 6 Mothers in the group total.

I overheard one of the men asking one of the ladies what she would like and began listing the possibilities. Let's see there was 50's style hamburgers, Greek, Chinese, Subway, Japanese, Italian and Charlie's Cheesesteaks. One apparently had her heart set on chicken but, Chick fil-A is closed on Sunday. She seemed disappointed. Now understand, I did find it odd, but, on some level kind of charming. Not my idea of a celebration, but, this is redneck country so I'm guessing not all that unusual. And think of the variety of tastes that it covers. Absolute Genius and no tipping involved.

I think it's nice that all those families got together with their mothers. I'm sure they all had a fun day. Perhaps it was their budget that prevented them from going to a nicer restaurant, but all that matters is that they celebrated Mothers Day with their loved ones near to them.

so trip update (ie...I'm home so I'm living the trip on my family's reports)

Getting a room was a long time. They got to Orlando Airport at 9 or little after...and didn't get a room til 4pm. I find it hard to believe Disney doesn't have any rooms available before 4 at Old Key West. Course, my dad wanted a top or so floor on Turtle Pond Rd.

They said Trail's End went a little downhill in food quality since last year. Wicked crowded. Hot (mid 90's). First day bus to Epcot, bus took a long time to get them. Pool is busy even the quiet pool which is never busy.

Every vacation my dad says not to get sick and the day before vacation, he got a sinus infection or something like that. So therefore my brother is sick now leaving my mother to start getting sick which leaves my sister to get it. And me not to get it.

My guess is that the crowds had something to do with Mothers Day weekend. I've heard it gets very crowded during this weekend each year.

Waiting for Son #1 to get up ... you know, 'cause it's only 4:00. :banghead:
Anyway, there's a chance he may know.

This is the one. The clothing style and chair looks turn of the century or so. I don't think it's an actual character but a photo of a character's mother. I have all of the Disney animated movies on VHS/dvd and could not find this picture. It's really me bugging me.
