Things change in minutes around here, more storms rolling in, and I have a major headache now, fixed hubby, and my self dinner. Going to call it a day. More snow for Saturday night into Sunday, only 1 to 3 inches. Does your forecast change multiple times? I wish someone could tell me why it's so hard to make a weather forecast and keep it. Good night to all, took some Advil, and will be better tomorrow. thanks again for my nite nite picture....heavenly dreams to all I'm seeing a boat trip in my dreams tonight..

your taking about snow and the East Coast has a tropical storm already

Oh yes, I remember goin' to the hen house to gather those eggs, too. So much fun! Those eggs were so very often not the same color or the same shade of white as what you see at your local supermarket. :)
And, yes, my grandparents on both sides had huge gardens, and plenty of fruit and pecan trees scattered about the property. I don't ever remember them goin' into town to buy any of that stuff. :)
We didn't go to the store, either except for bread. Mom wasn't much of a baker of bread. She would make pies, and cakes...just never bread. I guess it was so cheap back then, it didn't make any sense to bake it yourself.

"So, Jennifer", you ask, "how was your steak?"

Well, the truth is, I only made that one single cut (to make sure it wasn't still mooing) before the phone rang.

"How quickly can you get to Consol?" asks Son #2, referring to a not too distant street.
"I can be there immediately. Is someone hurt?"
"Yeah, Gen wiped out."

Boy did she ever! They had been out long-boarding, and she took a nasty spill. The whole left side of her body; thigh, ankle, knee, elbow, shoulder and FACE! all scraped and bloody.

She didn't want to go home, so we brought her here, and pulled out the first aid kit. I got the blood cleaned up, the worst wounds temporarily dressed and gave her some Advil.
We put ice on her face (eye area predominately) and got her settled for a few minutes.

Hubby and I went to Shopper's DrugMart and got her 2 boxes of large gauze pads, non-stick tape, a brand new Polysporin, saline wound spray, ice pack, and citrus scented Epsom salts to take home.

When we got back, I had her go take a bath in the Epsom salts and then helped her dress her wounds.

She has a great big shiner already, and is going to hurt like the dickens tomorrow, but thank you Lord, just a lot of skin left on the pavement, but no broken bones.

The steak, two hours later, was meh!
So sorry to hear about Gen.
