My pup and I went for a walk today and we walked past some lilacs. They smelled wonderful and looked nice too, they weren't quite at their peak yet though.

I have lilacs right beside my backporch and kitchen window. When they're in bloom the scent flows into my house.

I'm jealous! I have a huge lilac bush in the back yard but it only gets one or two (if I'm lucky) blooms on the whole things. It is really strange, my neighbor has two huge lilac bushes that bloom so beautifully and I get nothing....

Wow!!! What an insanely awesome day!!!!!
Just got back from dinner with the family at our favorite Mexican restaurant, to top it all off...!
The office event was a total hoot! Even though we only got to finish 14 holes of mini-golf before we got soakin' wet and rained out, it was sooo worth it...!
Remember, the theme was Caddyshack...

It took 2 shots to get everyone in...

I like your post, frankly I know nothing about cars. I took ours to be "fixed" for years, while hubby worked.. I've always wonder if I was "worked over",

I usually prefer them with shredded chicken, but your version seems to be pulled pork?

Oh wait, maybe it's the 43" TV compared to the 65" screen.

I promised Hubby he can have a 65" TV too - in July.
(What I didn't tell him is that I'm moving back down to the family room and bumping him up to the living room. )

As y'all can tell I didn't caught up. Please forgive if I answer a day old post. Can I just say it is 88* and awesome!

I'm right there with ya women. I'm more than a day behind. It was so pretty until the sky opened up. I blame the Gazebo. It got cracked open Thursday Night, historically it brings on Strong Storms. As does the planting of my Palm trees, still not potted yet.

We have 2 giant TV's. Both in man territory. Me, I don't see the draw. I moved on up to a 32" in my bedroom recently, wish I had not. That is one bright nightlight.

in other news, I got my car back.. theres still a few things to fix but we're on a good road.
The brake /tire noise is finally gone.
and guess what it was?
The exhaust!

The exhaust was compressed towards the engine and crocked to the side.. it made contact with the buffer/shock absorber and the engine thingie that moves the car.

Right tire area got a new direction bar (dont know the english name) and a new oxygen sensor/filter.

I still need to level up the tires and fix the a/c unit.

Yes, beyond yummy, Japanese food. For an equivalent visit Teppan Edo at Japan/Epcot. Never a bad meal ever.

Guess who had a terrible terrible day? First clue--This, second clue--Girl.

I had a fall in my bathroom and whacked my elbow on the doorknob, took the skin off my knee and jarred my back. At least I didn't wet my pants.

Then not much later I hear a terrible grinding noise coming from the bottom of our property. (We live up on a hillside.) A semi had gone off the road and got stuck in my yard. Then he tried to back out (because he was literally tapping my wooden fencing) and he almost jackknifed the truck. Yep. He got stuck blocking the road. By this time I just called the police to let them deal with it.

A tow truck was brought in to get him out, he was given a ticket, and the ruts in my yard were smoothed out. You can't really see them from my house but it's a P.I.T.A. when mowing the lawn with our tractor.

Now, I just need to relax with my ice pack and get caught up here.

Crazy-terrible day, indeed.

I guess sometimes the maternal instinct doesn't kick in right away and the sow will bite the piglets, hard enough to make them bleed. Supposedly putting the whiskey in her ears calms her down so she won't attack the piglets and they can eat. But what do I know, they never showed any of that on Green Acres!

I don't know diddly about piggies but this logic of whiskey in the birth mom pigs ears just intrigues the heck out of me. Now Whiskey in the mouth I'd almost grasp but why the heck in her ear?

We raised market hogs (duroc and bluebutt) and market steers (hereford and shorthorn) for 4-H. I was in for ten years but we had them on the farm for almost fourteen. Growing up we had pigs, cows, chickens, horses, mules and coondogs. One of my sisters has the farm now and only has horses, chickens and goats.

I love goats. Goats rock!

I loved the farm too. We kept it, gave the animals to my Aunt Mary (she stayed on their farm, after my Uncle passed away, and we lived at the farm, minus animals, on week-ends, and summer's. I would go to Aunt Mary's to see our animals, and help her get freshly laid eggs. Chicken's can peck really hard, when you try to reach in and get those eggs. But the eggs were sure worth it. We had a big garden, and picked vegetables, and strawberries. We also had a big black walnut tree, fresh walnuts, yummy. I'm making myself hungry, and it's the middle of the night...got to wait until breakfast.

Oh yes, I remember goin' to the hen house to gather those eggs, too. So much fun! Those eggs were so very often not the same color or the same shade of white as what you see at your local supermarket.
And, yes, my grandparents on both sides had huge gardens, and plenty of fruit and pecan trees scattered about the property. I don't ever remember them goin' into town to buy any of that stuff.
