When we first got the farm I wanted to have some pigs - after all I saw Arnold on Green Acres and he was nice. My DW explained just how mean they are. Now, I hear stories from the farmers of how they have to pour whiskey in the sow's ears so she won't kill her new pigliets....

I was just thinking of your comment, about the (hypothetical) situation of a neighbor trying to peek through the board slats in the backyard at you. For some bizarre reason, it triggered a memory of an old Andy Griffith episode, that I watched in a rerun some time ago.

Your neighbor wouldn't even have to wait for a cop to arrest you; the neighbor could simply charge you with a "citizen's arrest". :p (The Andy Griffith episode about Citizen's Arrest was hilarious--although the actual situation was very different from the discussion above, Gomer charged Barney Fife with a citizen's arrest, because Barney had issued a traffic citation to Gomer for an illegal U-turn. But then, Gomer saw Barney break the exact same traffic law, and he runs down the street after Barney yelling, "Citizen's Arrest! Citizen's Arrest!"

Hahaaa...! I remember that episode! Hilarious!!! :joyfull: :)

But, again, if one of my neighbors is gonna' hang out in the pitch black of all night long on the chance I may be out doin' that, and waitin' to "citizens arrest" me by screamin' it over the fence, a "Gomer" is the mildest thing I would be callin' them...! :D ;) :)

Past time for more book reading and sleeping. zzz nice dreams to all....see some of you in the morning, or not...I understand everyone is busy...and I might just sleep in, another rainy day on the way...I think I'm living in Seattle..:D

Hahaaa...! :)
I posted the same thing about us here in Austin being Seattle recently, because this year has been so much wetter than recent drought years, which is actually how the usual weather pattern used to be here, though...! ;) :)

Guess what time it is? Take a few minutes to read and prepare dinner. I wish I could think of something new, healthy and easy. Tonight's dinner wild rice, with red, green, and yellow peppers, ginger and paprika for spice, and dry roasted peanuts. This is about what I eat every night. Husband is opting for turkey, noodles and dressing and mashed potatoes. I can only observe from the other side of the table. At least it's not another nutri- grain meal. So much card board so little time. See you tomorrow.:D
Your dinner sounds delicious.

My new favorite commercial:

And now I'm back to homework. Probably will not be around tomorrow at all between work, homework, and my chorus concert. So nervous because the other soprano has another commitment and is leaving for the last three songs, so I'm it for the soprano section on the last three. I can hold my own, but if I screw up...

Not thinking about it. Not thinking about it.

I'm glad you like this commercial. A friend of mine at work and I really love cats and we were talking about how great this commercial is.

Guess who had a terrible terrible day? First clue--This, second clue--Girl.

I had a fall in my bathroom and whacked my elbow on the doorknob, took the skin off my knee and jarred my back. :( At least I didn't wet my pants.

Then not much later I hear a terrible grinding noise coming from the bottom of our property. (We live up on a hillside.) A semi had gone off the road and got stuck in my yard. :banghead: Then he tried to back out (because he was literally tapping my wooden fencing) and he almost jackknifed the truck. Yep. He got stuck blocking the road. By this time I just called the police to let them deal with it.

A tow truck was brought in to get him out, he was given a ticket, and the ruts in my yard were smoothed out. You can't really see them from my house but it's a P.I.T.A. when mowing the lawn with our tractor.

Now, I just need to relax with my ice pack and get caught up here.
So sorry. I hope Friday is a better day.

Oh my! Hahaaa...!!! :joyfull:
Both sets of my grandparents had hogs at one time, but, my pops folks quit keeping them before I was born. My moms folks had them until were quite a bit older.
I remember many a hog sloppin' from my youth. Also, there was a 5 gal. galvanized bucket that sat on the back porch that ended up with watermelon rinds, apple peels, orange peels, etc., that we used to take out to them when it was full enough. They'd usually be layin' in their mud wallow takin' it easy, but, boy howdy, when we showed up with that bucket full of treats, they'd go bonkers...!
Good memories! :)
I loved the farm too. We kept it, gave the animals to my Aunt Mary (she stayed on their farm, after my Uncle passed away, and we lived at the farm, minus animals, on week-ends, and summer's. I would go to Aunt Mary's to see our animals, and help her get freshly laid eggs. Chicken's can peck really hard, when you try to reach in and get those eggs. But the eggs were sure worth it. We had a big garden, and picked vegetables, and strawberries. We also had a big black walnut tree, fresh walnuts, yummy. I'm making myself hungry, and it's the middle of the night...got to wait until breakfast.:D
