You know, I find all your planning amusing. If it was just one and done, that would be one thing. But in the ever-changing landscape of who is going to Disney with you, and who is not going to Disney with you, I read your updated posts and scratch my head, wondering how the heck you keep all this information straight!! o_O ;) :joyfull:

DWifey does the same, and it boggles my feeble mind...! :)

No
It was a brand new senior housing/family services building built by the Baptist church that was to be opened in a couple months.
Confirmed, they just said it on our news.

I just...I can't even express my disappointment in our city tonight. There's been a knot in my stomach all night.

We've had to keep my brother calm this evening. Have to downplay it for him. He keeps asking about Camden Yards and the aquarium.

We are very critical of her response. She needed to be tougher and say, "Oh no. Not in my city." And she took too long to ask the governor to declare a state of emergency. Only reason the National Guard was able to respond so quickly is because the governor called earlier and told them to be ready and he had an executive order ready to sign. He signed the order 30 seconds after she called him.
They've shown her response about giving the protestors "space to destroy" then tonight she tried to say that isn't what she said.

Nope. I have work tonight on campus, and there's absolutely nothing happening here (not that I would expect anything to happen). Then I take backroads home and will be nowhere near the violence.

I am very concerned about going over to my other school tomorrow. It's much closer to some of the violence. I'll ask my friends who go to that school if there seemed to be any unrest and keep an eye on police reports and campus communications before making a decision.

All this is happening way too close for comfort. It's sad; it's accomplishing absolutely nothing other than disturbing the peace and people who can literally do nothing about it.

If this is all still happening after finals are done, maybe an impromptu Disney trip would be in order.
Well, it depends on your point of view.
Afroamericans are really getting ed for being portrayed as thugs as they get murdered by police.
There seems to be no accountability there.

Only one cop out of 120+ murder cases by cops on Blacks (according to some tumblr blogger )
Thats almost 3 killed every week.

What annoys me is.. There is a kid who gets murdered.. The media finds ANY way to portray him in bad shape.
Even if the guy was a honor student.
But if its a white kid, its always "he had a rough patch.. noone knew this was coming, he was a saint.." etc..

I know not many understand this, but as a third party viewer.. seems like the TV is doing this constant slow brainwashing to the masses.. like saying that All blacks deserve what they get.. even if they dont deserve it at all.

As for looters, I agree. I think they are opportunistic scum who wants to destroy and ride the "protest" for convenience.

I still laugh and facepalm at the disparity of the official answers.
There was a giant riot of white students.. destroyed a lot of stuff..
but the police called it "they were just drunk kids being rowdy"... Police watch in the vicinity in normal gear.
Then a similar event happens with black guys..
its "Thugs and Gangs, violent protesters, destruction..etc.." and the police shows in full assault riot gear with tanks and snipers.

I agree with you 100%. They are doing nothing. First of all, I don't understand why they were protesting. Federal government was getting involved and the officers involved in the death of that young man will most likely face charges. And second, all that they are doing is destroying property and causing trouble for innocent people who have absolutely zero control over what happened. And then wasting tax dollars because Of all the damage and from having to call in all the police.

Game has been postponed.
Sadly, there as been many cases where the cops walk free.
Not because there is no evidence.. but because the prosecutor refused to continue forward.
There was even one case recently, where the Judge literally said that the case had no "future" and cut the whole proceeding.

Except this guy had direct links to newspapers.
Aka sources ;)

Earlier this afternoon, Bro #1, Bro #3 and I went to Costco.
Not sure what we had all been imbibing, but we got a giant case of the sillies. For ten straight minutes on the way home we kept saying "kapusta", and then howling like fools.

I haven't laughed that hard in absolute ages.

I even texted "kapusta" to Hubby. He didn't laugh.
I don't think he got it.

I knew I should have gone with "studenina".
I'm afraid I do not get both.
Anyone care to explain to your loveable foreign friend?

That's always the case anywhere. When protestors blocked the streets in downtown Cleveland they were bussed in.
Seems they learned the tricks of Mexican political parties.
They do bus a bunch of "paid" followers everywhere for a reason.
To remove dissent and shut down any complainers.
Example, In universities.. the majority of the students have big hate for certain political groups.
The candidates would be completely overwhelmed and forced to flee.
What they do? they PREVENT the REAL STUDENTS from entering. And fill the space with the "paid" followers.
So the candidates look very pretty on TV.
