Have not been there since I was five. We don't like it as much for the same reason that we don't like AKL: too far removed from everything. We prefer staying at Boardwalk, Beach Club, and BLT (our three home resorts) because they feel closer to one or more parks. Especially Boardwalk. You can see TofT while you're swimming and walk to Epcot within five minutes. My last day of my last trip I walked into Epcot, got breakfast at France, exchanged a shirt that I bought in the wrong size, and was back within an hour.Anyone has been to Old Key West?
I want to know if its worth just moving there and forgetting about AKL.
I know you weren't.Yea I wasn't implying she didn't sing in Into the Woods, I was just pointing out that she can sing.
I've never been there but check youtube because you can get a good idea from there. If I'm not mistaken, people use golf carts there to get around similarly to Fort Wilderness.Anyone has been to Old Key West?

Is it just me or has Bernadette Peters not aged?I know you weren't.And I agree; she can definitely sing. She has a very nice alto voice.
I actually like her rendition of "Last Midnight" in Into the Woods better than Bernadette Peters, who originated the role of the witch. Not that Bernadette Peters is bad, because she's obviously not, but I think the lower key and lower singing voice work better for the role.
She does not look like she's in her late 60s, that's for sure.Is it just me or has Bernadette Peters not aged?
nope, as far I know, the contract is unchangeable and uncancellable.Have not been there since I was five. A lot of people like OKW, though. I can't really give you a recommendation. If you were to book there and something opened up at AKL, would you be able to back out? As DVC members, we can easily change our plans if something else opens up. Not sure how easy it is when you're renting points.
We recently stayed at Coronado Springs, as you know.In other news, I'm between ****ed and not so relieved.
AKL is SOLD OUT.. they just flat out told me to wait by David's.. and now its sold out.
I am not amused.
the worst?
only sold out in a SINGLE DAY. and not a fan of splitting my vacation in two.
I'm debating taking the offer for old key west.. which as the same price and the place looks nice.
but the resort looks almost as big as Coronado Springs.
I dont think we will like to walk another 2 miles every day just to get to the bus station.
or worse.. having the bus take the "full circle merry go around" to stop in one of the 4 (or more ) resort stops.
I was at coronado springs in February too, I was in the casitas area, right next to the convention center. We recently stayed at Coronado Springs, as you know.
We were situated as far as physically possible from El Centro, but by cutting through the main pool area and over the bridge, we were closer than we EVER were all the times we stayed at POP.
We only took the bus once, but I think I recall that the bus stop at the main building was in fact the last stop.
Doing the full circle loop did not take that long.
We are 100% planning on staying at CS again.

I still didn't liked the walk as it was around 1 mile and half to reach the bus stop #1.
But was very close to the restaurant and bar.
Also, coronado seems more.. dunno.. cheap looking than even POR.
Old West seems more high end golfing club style.
Ill see what I can do, Id rather stay at AKL.. I really enjoyed that hotel (I'm a sucker for hotels with lots of green and trees)
That was my most recent stay. I really liked it (sure, its not as nice as the others, but how bad can a Disney resort be?Anyone has been to Old Key West?

Having never been to Mexico or the Southwest, we loved it. Didn't seem like a cheap imitation to us.![]()

I agree. We have a Mexican restaurant that looks just like Coronado Springs.
They have a nice food court. Don't get me wrong I love all the tile but for someone who lives in the desert, I need the green trees and foliage @Cesar R M was talking about.Having never been to Mexico or the Southwest, we loved it. Didn't seem like a cheap imitation to us.
The resort is beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous, and the reflection of the lights bouncing off the lake at night was breathtaking.
Plus, our last six or seven stays have all been at POP. No comparison!
Port Orleans French Quarter is on my list of resorts to stay at. That is a cute couple of people you went with!Still one of my favourite pics from November:
