@Goofyernmost , have you been out on the golf course much lately? (Not sure if you're also having the humid heat wave like we're having up here recently; and if so, I assume that would probably limit the days you golf.)
Hi Minnie, No I haven't been out on the course and I won't be until this heat lets up. I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree but I don't have a death wish either. Fun Fact: Yesterday I texted my sister in Vermont to inform her that it was 2 degrees hotter in Vermont than it was here in NC. Anyway, I have gone to the Drive Shack with my daughters family and will be going again soon. It is a novelty place that uses golf to make up an assortment of games. It also has the added perk of basically being under cover with large fans and heating units when necessary.

Actually I have played "real" golf only once in the past year or so mostly because I haven't gotten my equilibrium back completely yet, caused by some of my back issues. I'm ok on flat surfaces, but become quite wobbly on uneven ground.

Thanks for asking!

I have a job! It's only 7 hours a week base, but I can pick up shifts from other people, and for right now, I think that's good enough. I've been struggling with health since my last job and I don't want to burn out again. So for now, I'm happy and I think it's going to be fun. I'll be working in a store that sells everything for pregnancy and babies. Maternity clothing, baby clothes and toys, bottles, bouncy chairs, car seats, etc. I start in August and I'm pretty stoked.

maybe call it wood paste
Actually the ones by Vio Life and Miyoko's are both very good and dh couldn't tell the difference, when he stole mine to put on a bagel. Vegan cheeses have come a long way the past 12 years or so. Miyoko (the woman) really changed products for the better. Before she started her business she had a show where she showed people how to make their own cheeses and sometimes I make mozzarella to control how much salt goes in.
Game changer for those of us with allergies

We went to see the new Pixar movie Elio. I thought it was entertaining, not Pixar’s best best certainly not its worst. It’s a shame it is seen as a bomb.
With dh being on nights, the boys having to help me with projects and some day trips we have planned I'm not sure we'll be able to even be able to see Downton in the theater. We're going to get a hard copy of that one, so please no spoilers. The upside more day trips this summer, the downside no lifting for 4 to 8 more weeks. I probably won't be allowed to move a full canner this year:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: Did I mention it's my right side and I'm right handed:banghead: Major upside no more knee or ankle brace but I'll probably wrap both Friday seeing we'll be doing a bit of walking on uneven surfaces, and I'll be wearing the stupid sling for the duration at least in public. Sad about Elio that's one I want to see

What do you do with all of those? Are they used in salads, for example? I haven't had a beet in ages, and it wasn't the pickled kind. Think it was boiled.

I’ve posted this before, but I’m not a huge fan of beets (rare in my case, as there’s not much food I don’t like ;)).
However, I’ve been known to eat whole jars of pickled beets in one sitting before, because I love them that much…!!!!! :hungry:

Glad you've had some fun with your daughter's family at the Drive Shack, and will go again soon. :)

Makes sense that you haven't golfed much this year (for various reasons), but even if you could, getting out there in his really hot weather wouldn't be a great idea. (Although some people don't mind super hot weather; I'll never understand them!) Reminds me a little of one of my brothers, back when he was in high school --

His summer job was being a caddie at the local golf course. In the hottest weather, he'd be hauling around the player's golf bag, but it didn't really annoy him that much. Then again, in his spare time, he'd be at the park playing tennis with his pals, also under the very hot sun. We all thought he was crazy! :hilarious:

Yippee! That sounds like a very nice job!
